Just cuz someone writes it doesnt make it so.

"renowned poet, novelist and actress whose work defied description"

So, what's your problem with her? What defines a writer in your eyes?

This woman reached heights that very few people ever will.

Bingo! She certainly did not allow racism get in her way.

Damn a rapper or basketball player -- Maya Angelou, a role model and success young black kids should emulate.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

"Retreat hell! We just got here!"

This.

Edit: Don't stop at black kids, anyone can be her, if you care enough and work hard enough.

Shame on you for your disrespect.

Thank you for this link Su and Marvin, I heard about it on the news this morning here in Canada and was interested to learn more about her history.

An inspirational story.

You're welcome. She's an exceptional woman, in every sense of the word. If you get a chance, check out her work. I wrote one of my papers on Sister Flowers.

The hell? There are people who have issues with MAYA ANGELOU?

I really didn't think someone would actually post something negative about her, even here. But, guess I was wrong.

I have a feeling your response will be from Jiminy Cricket

I'm just curious as to why she isn't considered a writer in Marc's eyes. If he can break it down for us, I'm sure there's a good reason.

There's something to be said about any individual that would spit on another's grave.

I can't see this at work, but I know it's funny.

Marvin, I can describe if for you in one word.

I'm checking my phone, I think I got it.
