Gum smacking!! (My mother thinks people should just never chew gum in public!!) But my biggest pet peeve is -

When people confuse 'your' and 'you're'!!

Your: of or relating to you or yourself. Ex: your hair, your pet peeve

You're: the conjuction for 'you are'. Ex: you're so funny, you're the love my life

I know it's not that big of a deal but it really makes my blood boil (Guess that's what makes it a pet peeve!!)

Long hair for women!!

Why would a woman want really short hair anyway, too lazy to style it? Or as suggested above?

Why would you think a woman is too lazy for wanting short hair? Why would you think a woman with short hair is automatically one of the "suggested above" kind? What if there is some medical reason she has short hair? Women have issues with thinning hair as well. Maybe short hair is easier for the woman to deal with if she's dealing with, say, cancer?

For the record, I have long hair. I think a woman's hair length is and always should be HER decision and NOT based on the wants of a man. If at some point I decide to shorten my hair, I am assured by my husband that he will love me no less for it.

Oh there's way too many to mention. My mother says I'm intolerant. She's right. Currently on my mind:

People who come to visit uninvited for a weekend (as a favor to me, what???)

A lot of things about the way people speak-I hate when people say "n" as opposed to "and" or "tuh" as opposed to "to", "mmkay," or just "mm" when you should be saying "oh." Also "jst" instead of "just" and people who say things like "I jst, jst, jst can't"-you know what I'm talking about...

Along those same lines, the tone of voice that people use-if you're a CHICK speak in a feminine voice. My mom has this terrible thing she does on the phone where it sounds like I'm talking to someone who is half growling half constipated...don't be lazy, put some tone in that voice.

When people grunt or do that "mmmm" sound-ummm, I don't want to hear your sex noises. That one causes me to be ready to fight. Especially when I'm on the phone with my mom and she finishes a sentence with that mmm sound-as if the speaking of that sentence was SOOO much effort...

Mouth and bodily noises-audible breathing, EATING NOISES, people sucking sauce off their fingers.

People's obnoxious habits, like my uninvited houseguest in the bed I set up for her SCRATCHING her scalp over my pillows, then the next day at the table while we're eating-NASTY! People rubbing their eyes or picking their ears and then rubbing whatever off their fingers in close proximity to me.

FIDGETING-especially with the hands-people learn how to sit still FFS.

People who have no objections to those who converse with passengers while driving but hate on those of us who talk on cell phones while driving-HELLO! It's the same thing! A conversation is a conversation. And if a conversation distracts you that much that you can't focus on the road in front of you, I'm not sure you need to be driving anyway. I've seen more distracted people "lost in space" behind the wheel with no cell phone to use as a scapegoat. Bad driving is bad driving, no matter what the excuse. I actually drive better while I'm talking on the cell phone because it forces me to pay attention to what I'm doing, as opposed to lost in my own thoughts and not necessarily paying attention. The only accidents I've ever had or tickets I've gotten have been while I wasn't talking on the phone.

People who let their kids run wild in stores so that one will walk out right in front of you and stop-or even worse, walk right towards you and make no effort to get out of the way. Adults who do the same things.

People who are in such a rush to jump out in front of me when I'm driving then insist on driving 10 miles per hour below the speed limit-I thought you were in a hurry, and hey thanks for taking it upon yourself to decide I obviously don't have anywhere to go either. Along these same lines, people who follow the speed limit "just 'cause." There's not going to be a cop and they know it yet their driving skills suck so bad that they can't even drive above the speed limit. Even worse when you go to pass them and they SPEED UP so you can't pass them.

There are many more but I can't think of them at the moment...
