No, I requested an expedite that was denied. I called the ombudsman and a few hours later the status had changed. I received an RFE, but better than waiting endlessly.

I will gladly take an RFE if it means any kind of movement. I know it will be a BS RFE but at least something to give hope....

I had my interview this morning :) I woke up at 5am because I couldn't sleep, I was that nervous. The whole process was pretty easy; a lot of waiting, but the interview itself lasted about 3 minutes only. I was like, don't you want to keep my photocopies? Don't you want to see my pictures? He said no, we have everything we need. I was surprised by that as every guide says to take photocopies of your docs. Maybe they scan them these days?? Anyway, I was a little over prepared but that's ok. I am so happy to say I have been approved!! I know this is only the start of a long journey but after more than 7 months of waiting, I am so glad this part is nearly over.

Thanks for being my buddies these last few months, you've helped me more than you know. Even though I don't post everyday, I do read this thread everyday and will continue to do so until everyone has NOA2 and beyond.

Good luck to you all, especially those still waiting for NOA2! We'll be with our loved ones soooon!

Grats!

How did you pay for the interview? They didn't include a page or anything where it says please transfer funds to this address in packet 4.

Is there a website you have to use? On usvisa-info.com there is nothing. Just a way to register the appointment.

After I registered I realized I did it wrong. When you log in you can select "add applicant" on the homepage and then from the drop down menu select the K visa option. Following the instructions for that should get you to a step where you have to pay the fee before you can proceed.

February 15th - sent package to Dallas. Took a long time to get to Dallas because of weather conditions and delays.

March 3rd - NOA1.

March 5th - Received alien registration number.

August 21st- NOA2.
September 8th - NVC received package and assigned case #
September 11th - Embassy received package.
September 16th - Received Packet 3.
September 17th - Sent packet 3 back.
September 23rd - Received packet 4.
October 14th - Medical.
October 21st - Interview. - Interview approved, visa granted!

November 1st - Moving to the U.S.

Created a case (DHS-7001) with the ombudsman today, so combined with calls to open SR and congress and also senator next week, maybe something can come of it. The gloves are coming off as this is absolutely ridiculous. <fingers crossed>

Be ready to call the ombudsman as well. Initially they closed my case stating that I needed to expedite with USCIS. I called them and got my resolution.

The K1 process is such a mess. The difference in processing times between service centers combined with the fact that they obviously don't take applications in the order they are received, is just crazy. It should really be more organized, it's not right.

Fingers crossed the ombudsman can help.

Sweet! I plan on the 3rd if all goes planned. trying to figure out what I will do with my savings. Maybe just take it all out in cash at the bank? Transferring it via bank will cost a fortune. I am calling on monday to make my appointment for a medical. Hopefully I can do it next week also. This week will be crazy. Have to defend my paper in order to graduate (that is if I passed it). Exciting, stressful last few weeks!

Cheers!

I had the same question about getting my money to the US. You can take up to $10,000 undeclared, so I took my money over in stages. If you go online you can usually compare different rates to change your money in your area. In London, I found the best exchange was Thomas Exchange; it was way better than the post office and the more money you change, the better the exchange rate.

Transferring through the bank is usually very expensive as you know, but you can find sites online where you can transfer your money directly to a US account with a good exchange rate. For the UK and some other European countries, Transferwise is known to be good and reliable to do a straight money transfer, and their exchange rates are pretty good. Research online and you might find something that suits you!

Good luck with your results! Let us know

Open an online savings account like American express savings and transfer the millions :)
