NVC???

Hello,

I know there's been loads of questions on the NVC stage and I've seen the latest NVC process on here, buts there's some parts I'm not clear about.

So I'm finally at the NVC stage. My husband just paid the AOS fee and it states paid online. What happens next? We haven't received any instructions on what to do next. Will he receive any instructions? My husband seems to think the NVC will mail him some info, but I'm not convinced. Also when is it best for me to apply for my police certificate, do I need to do it at this stage or at the interview stage?

Not sure how different Egypt and the United Kingdom are but my fiance got his police report after our case was sent to the Embassy. He has to send a police report to the Embassy soon (along with all the other paperwork they said to send in the email). They are good for 3 months and he will have to just get a new one anyways if it takes longer than 3 months to get an interview.

I just called NVC about 10 days after I received our NAO2 and they told me it was transferred to Egypt and gave me our case number.

What is AOS fee? We don't pay anything until my fiance goes to his interview.

You don't need to wait for any instructions from NVC to proceed. Assemble the AOS package (I-864 with supporting documents) and get in the mail to NVC. Make sure to send the bar-coded cover sheet with the AOS package.

The police certificate gets submitted with the IV package -- which will be the next step in the process.

At this stage you and your husband contribute to how fast you get through NVC based on how quickly you submit documents.

This should help to make the steps a little clearer.

AOS fee was $88

I understand I don't need to wait for instructions from the NVC, I'm asking if they will send info? I mean suppose I didn't have access to this site how would I know what happens next, as in do they actually send info detailing this? The reason I ask is because my husband is dealing with all of this and he isn't on this site. Seems like he's decided to wait on hearing from the NVC, I'm just hoping they do send him some info, I'll guess he'll call if he doesn't hear from them.

Upon paying the fees on CEAC. There's an option with instruction what to do next. He or you can print that. You won't get any instruction through the mail or email. I believe the only thing they'll mail you are invoice bills, checklists and when your case is complete. Calling them as many as want is the best way to be up to date.

Once you mail your AOS/IV packet. You need to call to find out when it's been accepted and added to the case file.

Did you filed the DS-261 (Choice of Agent)? You can access it through https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ the actual name of the form is DS-261, Online Choice of Address and Agent. Basically it tells NVC who they should be sending communications to. Most people select the petitioner in the US. It should take a couple of days for the DS-261 to be processed. Once processed the Immigrant Visa fee is invoiced an an option to pay the Immigrant Visa fee is available online at the same place that you paid the AOS fee. Once the Immigrant Visa Fee is paid then the DS-260 (the actual application) becomes available.

At this stage you can file the Affidavit of Support package, which includes the cover sheet that you can get from where your receipt is online, an I-864 (you can get that from USCIS website), and supporting documentation to show the petitioner (and join sponsors, if needed) can support the intended immigrant.

So my hubby paid the $88, it's come up as paid. I completed the DS-261, it's got my hubby's contact details on it. I guess we'll wait until the IV fee is available and he's in the process of completing the I-864. Thanks for information.

Now it states my DS-261 is incomplete, despite completing it, receiving a message stating that it can no longer be amended and receiving an e-mail saying my DS-261 has been submitted. I can still go in and amend it???
