How long is the I-134 valid for? For example, is it only valid for the length of the Visa until the citizen and fiancee are married and apply for permanent residence? I'm asking because my fiancee came over on a K1, we got married and have have been happily married for over a year. I've recently lost my job and we have applied for some government assistance. If still valid since we are married and she is now a permanent resident, how does me losing my job affect the I-134. Please advise and let me know if you need any more info.

I-129F NOA1 : 2012-03-26

I-129F RFE(s) : n/a!

I-129F NOA2 : 2012-09-20

NVC Case reception: soon ;)

You don't need the I-134 after you are married because the I-134 only for K-1 visa application. The affidavit of support after married is the I-864 not the I-134.

Generally speaking she is not entitled to Government Assistance, there are some exceptions.

If she has already filed AOS and became a permanent resident, then you had to provide an I-864 when she adjusted status. The I-134 and K-1 are not in the equation any longer. If she receives public assistance that she is not even supposed to be eligible for, then the government can use the I-864 you signed to have you pay them back for what she receives.
