Yeah it is getting to be quite frustrating.

Has anyone here filed taxes yet?

Ours are still pending, and we filed ours married/jointly a little more than 2 weeks ago.

My spouse hasnt worked the entire year, but we still had to file married jointly bc my taxable status is married on my paystubs.

Just hoping we get our refund and it doesnt cause problems that she doesnt have her GC yet!

Filing mine this weekend, I (the Immigrant) am the only one working so its the other way round for us, that's going to be interesting..

Our first case inquiry did not get any response. Second one got response 3 days after last day of estimated response date. Only stated sorry for the delay and any inconvenience it may cause. Basically useless information. We didn't even get potential interview waiver.... It is just pathetic how it is being handled...

I filled an inquiry back in Jan 06. Got reply today saying:

Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner. We regret any inconvenience that results from delays in processing.

Taxes were approved, and went through just fine! That was a relief at least.

However still 10 months pending AOS here!

Our work permit expires soon, and so next week we are sending out an updated work permit request to get hers renewed.

So to all of you April filers who are still waiting, and have a work permit. Make sure soon you renew it! Dont forget that yours is only valid for 1 year.

I am glad we kept this forum active so we could stay in touch with all the April filers.

Off topic ever so, but with the mention of taxes I will say we just sat down and went through TurboTax. Now we're both headachey and requiring a beer. Awful stuff. I think we'll end up getting someone to look over ours, we're not confident!

I sent my EAD renewal off on Feb 11 and it's still not reached Chicago, according to USPS tracking.

Generally feeling quite angry at the moment to be honest!

I'm not surprised that you're angry, you've had a long wait. Are you following the main waiver thread? We've been doing a great job of supporting each other throughout this long wait.

It's been 7 months since i received the "Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case" letter. So, i sent an inquiry today. and received a reply today saying:

"Accdg to USCIS records, your application is under extended review at the national benefits center. Please be advised that posted processing times are goals based on Field Office averages. These goals are subject to change and can vary from office to office. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays in processing."

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? Extended review?? so that means, it will take longer again?? Ugh!

Processing times say that they are processing April 24, 2014 cases, which means that if we don't hear something soon, we will be outside processing times. I know that submitting an inquiry is pretty much useless, so I was wondering if anyone has just walked in to their local USCIS office to find out what is going on. The closest infopass appointment is not until late this month, and I really would like to know something sooner. If anyone has any advise, please let me know. Thank you!

I'm wondering how do you know that your file is in Kendall office? Because all of interview waiver letter cases are at National Benefit Center. You are lucky that it's in the USCIS office. If I were you I will make an info pass appointment. They will be able to answer your question.

However, if your case is not at USCIS office, I'm so sorry to say that the processing time at each USCIS means nothing. My USCIS office is now processing Nov 14 filer and me, March 14 filer has noting to expect. They don't touch my case.

If it was a Tier 1 customer service agent who told you it was at the Kendall FO, I would take that info with a grain of salt. Even if Tier 2 said it I'm beginning to doubt. We gave a 4/3 filing date, and the only way we truly know where it is is from the return address of the most recent SR (it's actually in Imperial, CA). We were told by Tier 2 it arrived in the NYC office on 2/4. So if I were you I'd file an SR for out of processing date online and make sure you check the box that says you want email confirmation. Disregard the suffix on the request, it means nothing unless it is something other than the Kendall FO suffix. Our response didn't even acknowledge our SR #, only our MSC #. With your NOA, your file has to be at a field office by now.
