If only your I-130 (petition that, once approved, authorizes you to apply for the visa) has been approved then you still need to file the DS-260 (actual visa application) and with that packet you'll also submit a request for interview.

Hello everybody here in VJ :) !

I am an Algerian woman married to a US citizen , i got a checklist from NVC and had sent back the checklist response to them , when my husband called the agent told him that they received it on 2nd of April 2014, i haven't heard from them until now :( . They took only 6 days after they received my IV package to review both of the packages (AOS and IV packages). Now it has been 17days since they received the checklist response that they were asking for.

Please how long does it usually take for them to review the checklist responsefrom the day they receive it ?

Hello,

I am Algerian too, i am woman. I got my I130 petition approved in 6th of February 2014, and got my case number at NVC 14 days after that ( on 21st of Feb 2014). We paid all fees ( AOS and IV fees) and have sent all the documents and forms necessary for my application. We received a checklist about the AOS form on 27th of March 2014, so we sent back a checklist response with all the required information and they received it on 2nd of April 2014. It has been 17 days since they receive it and we got no email or anything from them so i guess they might take some more time to review all the packages, forms, etc.. to complete the case then schedule the interview and send the IV package to the US Embassy ( or conulate) in Algiers.

I am hoping for this day :( i am bored of being apart from my husband and hope also that you get your case complete soon inshaa Allah brother (or sister).

me too from algeria and my i 130 was approved 09 January 2014 and didnt hear anything until now about the interview date

There is no direct correlation between the date of I-130 approval and the interview date. No interview date will be scheduled until the case is complete at the National Visa Center. If you have not already negotiated the multiple step process to get through NVC, you need to be acting and preparing, not just waiting for an interview. You have fees to pay and packages to send, along with two online forms to complete.

If you are case complete at NVC, say that. Fill in the timelines and tell us where you really are in the process, so the right help can be given.

If you only have an "approved I-130" you are not "waiting for an interview" YET.

It's been taking three to four weeks. They state up to 20 business days.

There is no "processing time" standard for what happens between I-130 approval and the assigning of an interview date. The timing depends primarily on how quickly and accurately YOU negotiate the National Visa Center part of the process.

Thank you for replying me , I was talking with my husband about that , he sent to nvc all papers they ask about which is , my original birth certificate and police record and original marriage certificate plus affidavit of support ,and he paid all fees ,now we are waiting for our case to be completed it should takes within 30 days ,once it's complete the nvc contact the embassy to schedule an appointment it will be another one month ,then it remind between me and the us embassy in Algeria and mostly it takes two months for an interview ,this is processing time for Algeria .this is what my husband explained to me and what I figured out from people who have same experience with the same country (Algeria) , I try to be patient .good luck for you all
