Hello all, I just wanna say that I'm new here but I have been welcomed by everyone and I love how helpful you guys all are. I am making this thread as I've got a few questions so I just want to post them all in here and I really hope that you guys share your knowledge with me.

I am currently applying for the k1 visa and this whole process is rather confusing. I just want to make sure that I fill everything properly... I've tried googling some things but the answers I find online aren't always that clear... So if you guys could please try and help me I would be forever thankful. My fiance was filling the I-129F today but we are confused about a few things. That is:

1.alien registration number... I do not have one, right? I know I should be the one actually knowing whether I have this or not lol but I'm confused so I'm asking. All I've got is my passport and a tourist visa... Well I've had two kinds of student visas before cause I was an exchange student.

2 . now.. I am the alien fiance and I am currently in America. 15.b asks me for the I-94 arrival/departure record number and idk what to put here. I've Googled it and it said that it's the info on that white piece of paper inside ur passport but they don't out these in passports anymore... I however do have a stamp that they put in my passport when I entered the country. It ssays what day I got "admitted" and what day I need to be out of the country. Is that what I put in the I-94 arrival/departure record number?

3.15d...this one says "date authorized stay expired or wwill expire as shown on i94 or i95... Again, do I put the date that the stamp says I need to leave USA?

4.travel document nr... Above this one they ask for my passports nr... Do I leave this one blank then or do I put the passport nr in this too?

5.34.a....tthis one asks to describe the circumstances in which we met n how the relationship was established etc. There r only three lines provided for this one. Should we just write a few sentences on a separate piece of paper and name it "34a"?

6. Part 3, other information, 4: " indicate which waiver applies:

MMultiple filer, no disqualifying convictions (general waiver)

Is the one my fiance checked, is this the correct one?

That is it for now. Thank you so much if u took the time to read this and help us.

Answers:

  1. No you don't
  2. You can get it from here: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html
  3. Date on the stamp
  4. Passport number
  5. Write "See Attached" and explain in detail on a supplemental sheet. Before writing the explanation, the top of the sheet needs to reference the entire question. Simply writing "34A" will be insufficient.
  6. Has he filed for someone else before?

1. No you do not currently have one. They will assign you one once you have submitted the i129f petition and it's in their system.

2. Go here to retrieve your i-94 number: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html;jsessionid=PsJ2TnXGNvyQqf85mJrFfDdsH8zfnN0598LvMpNMvw8GfnCGzFhv!1334480314

3. Yes

4. Is nr = number? Not sure what the difference is. I would just fill in the passports number, and leave the travel document number blank. I'm sure someone else will beable to answer this for you.

5. I submitted an extra piece of paper in writing about this that listed where and when I met my fiance, under what circumstances, and you don't have to, but I also listed the times I have seen him and where since we met. I also mentioned when we were engaged. You don't have to put all that info down, but it doesn't hurt. I attached the sheet to my petition and in those three lines, I wrote "please see attached page xxx". There are people in the forum who haven't attached an extra sheet, so if where you met can fit into the three lines, then by all means.

6. Don't remember what this one was about.

5. > If it fits in the space provided, no attachment sheet is needed. For example: "We met online in 20XX. We met in person Month, Day, 20XX when I visited [foreign fiance(e)'s name] for 3 weeks at his/her home in City, Country." It does not have to be long or elaborate. They do not need or want your love story. However, if you want to provide more than just the factual basics, then you can, of course, provide an attachment sheet. How to fill out an attachment sheet is in the I-129F form instructions.

6. > What he checks depends on what type of waiver he needs, if he needs one. Has he filed an I-129F before? Is this the third I-129F petition he has filed? Has he had another petition approved in the last 2 years? If none of those apply, then neither do the waivers. He would not check any of those boxes.

From the I-129F form instructions(very important to read all of these instructions before sending the petition) > http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf

What Is the Filing Fee?

The filing fee for a Form I-129F is $340.
There is no fee for Form I-129F petitions for classification of an alien as a spouse of a United States citizen.

Use the following guidelines when you prepare your check or money order for the Form I-129F filing fee:
1. The check or money order must be drawn on a bank or other financial institution located in the United States and must
be payable in U.S. currency; and

2. Make the check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
NOTE:
Spell out U.S. Department of Homeland Security; do not use the initials "USDHS" or "DHS."

3. If you live outside the United States, contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or consulate for instructions on the method of
payment.

And yes, use the same address you mail the I-129F to in TX.

Right. Thank you guys. I have a question bout something else though. We are about to mail them our visa packet with evidence such as photos and stuff. We've got plane tickets, photographs, hotel receipt, both of our passports stamps, some chats and exchanged emails and cards that we've mailed each other. Is that enough evidence? Also, it says to send them the copies of these things but would sending the originals (for example the original ticket or a bday card) benefit us more? Wouldn't that be better? I don't care bout photographs cuz we can always print out more, i also don't need the plane tickets, or even the cards because we've got each other and yeah. What do u think?

I'm asking because I don't know whether to make copies of these things or to just send em the originals

Don't send your originals of anything. Always send copies. Things get lost sometimes, so copies only. Take the originals with you to your interview, just in case they ask to see any originals of anything you sent in. They most likely won't, but they can.
