What about Gloworms dolls where the face lights up at night

smurfs the little blue guys with white hat/head...oh yeah smurfette was the girl, she had blonde hair and a white hat/head

And I know every kid went to See ET

I think we must have been born in the same year or something because I can relate to everything you mention!

In fact, I had just thought about gloworms! I used to watch the cartoon too!

And I checked your profile - we *were* born in the same year, only two months apart, in fact! That explains it!

one of my bitter memories from teenhood was not getting tickets to the Jacksons tour when they played the Silverdome.

My friends mother, however, was able to procure front seat tickets to Prince's 1999 tour -- my virgin eyes and ears!

You had that Fisher Price Doctor's Kit with a stethoscope that actually worked.

Yes, it sure did work...

You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it.

You forgot the handlebar streamers....

You had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sand! als ( the ones with hard sole & the buckle). You also had a pair of salt-water sandals.

What about Jellies????

You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie.

I had a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party lol...

It was a big event in your household each year when the "Wizard of Oz" would come on TV. Your mom would break out the popcorn and sleeping bags!

still love the Wizard of Oz

You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape player up to the speaker.

mmmhmmm...

You learned everything you needed to know about girl issues from Judy Blume books.

(Are you there God, It's me, Margaret.)

Absolutely, those were the best.

You wore friendship pins on your tennis shoes, or shoelaces with heart or rainbow designs.

and velcro???

Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain...just stand up and COMPLAIN!

How about remembering where you were when you found out that Elvis had died? My sister's birthday was the day before, and she had gotten a new bicycle. Being the dutiful older sister, I took it upon myself to try it out for her, LOL. She came flying out the front door, and ran screaming across the yard, "Elvis is dead, Elvis is dead, Elvis is dead." I went in to find my mother (huge Elvis fan) folding laundry. She was ghostly white and saying, "It's just not true. He can't be dead. I have tickets next month!"
