My fiance and I are currently at the stage of getting her to come to the United States from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Our petition was approved and we received a Notice of Action (I-797) on Feb 11th. stating that the USCIS is sending everything over to the NVC and that I should allow 30 days before contacting them. What comes next after this? What actions can we start taking now to get ahead of the game? How much longer before she gain her entry? Can anyone give me a general time frame that I'm going to be working with to finish this up. Should my fiance be setting up appointments, getting records, vaccines, etc?

Any useful information that might be able to help is appreciated!

Since you received you NOA2 in Feb 11th, you can already call NVC and ask if they received your case. They can say that can take up to 8 weeks to receive, and you should contact them after that period. Do not bother, keep calling them.

We received our NOA2 in Feb 13th, NVC received Feb 27, 2 weeks and not 8 like the agents will tell you.

We used to call everyday, until we got an answer. In the Feb 28 we called, and they gave us our case number.

I have been watching cases from Brazil, and it seems that the average time for an interview after you have your case number is between 30 - 60 days.

The beneficiary can also call the NVC in this part of the process, they will ask your receipt number from USCIS, NOA2 date, names and dates of birth from both of you.

Your fiance could start getting the vaccines already, I did, because is one less thing in the way, and in Brazil most of them are for free. They are not required now, but they will be when the AOS comes.

About the medical exam, some say that you should wait your interview date to schedule, but you can do that once you have your case number from NVC.

OBS. Create a timeline about your case, that helps to keep track of your process.

You can start calling NVC to get ur case number. With this number u can track ur file till it get to Rio de Janeiro, so they schedule the interview. And schedule her medical.

Tell her to start with the vaccinations as soon as possible, because some vaccinations has an interval of 2 months.

I was approved on jan 31, on feb. 18 they already had my documents in Rio de Janeiro..and schedule my interview for April 1st. There are some docs u need to send from us to Brazil, for her interview.
