Hi everyone,

I am a full time student so my father is being our co-sponsor. He files taxes jointly with my mother. Although my father has more than sufficient income, i thought it might have more weight if my mother who also has sufficient income to qualify also signs. However i'm confused as to how to do this. Does my mother just sign fill out another I-134? Or does she fill out the I-864A http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864A.pdf.? or will this all just confuse the immigration officer and it would be better if my dad just signs?

Thank you very much for your help.

Nothing indicates country. You should check with the embassy to find out if they even accept co sponsors.

If allowed your fathers income would seemingly be sufficient. If so I don't know why you want to confuse the issue but if you just have to do it she would become another co sponsor just as your father did.

There is no combining of incomes with the I-134 for a K-1. You use one co-sponsor that meets the requirement for their own household size plus the foreign fiance(e).

What country are you processing through? Embassy requirements vary from country to country.

You can only have one co-sponsor, and that co-sponsor will fill out the I-134 with their information. You will list the current income of your co-sponsor. Your co-sponsor will only need to meet 125% of the federal poverty level for their household size, which also includes your fiancé.

Only one person can be a cosponsor.
