my boyfriend will be coming this month in the philippines and until now we haven't decided which between the two should we apply for considering his situation. he is under ssdi and according to the social security once he marries he will lose his disability income. he is unemployed and never had a job. we knew that fiancee visa is faster when it comes to processing BUT since he is under disability what he receives monthly won't be enough for the affidavit of support and knowing i am from philippines we heard directly from the embassy that co sponsor in the philippines isn't allowed and we read too that once fiancee visa is denied consider it a case closed. so we thought of the marriage visa, but with that visa, he will lose the income he is receiving monthly so co sponsors comes in but his mother and his brother is both under disability as well so we don't know what we can do to be able to make it as far as the affidavit of support is concern.

another thing is that we have a thought that what if i can have a job there since i am nurse and nurses gets a good paycheck that will justify the affidavit of support. so what if he can look for a job for me there once we start filing for the visa (fiancee or marriage), would that work for us?

The promise of a future job is not enough, so him looking for a job will not work.

we are thinking that marriage is the best option for our situation. with this situation we are in and looking at the details, that is best shot we can do. just wondering about the affidavit of support. what are the means and ways we can qualify on it with little money we got? thanks

No you have to meet the income requirements or have a joint sponsor that meets the income requirements in the I-864P or else you cannot be granted a spousal visa to move to the USA.

Why would he lose disability when he marries? That does not seem correct. If he is disabled, he is disabled wheather he is single or married?
