They sound like they are trying to just put you off. I have an issue to this day where I am not able to check my online status. If I were to use the online

checker it tells me that my receipt number is invalid yet it is not. Is yours invalid or has been invalid for a long period of time?

I am able to check my status online.. I read on one of these forums that the reps that we speak with at customer service have limited info they basically see what we are able to see..

I truly hope so.. I was hopin the entire process would take 1 year.. Really want my husband here for Christmas.. fingers crossed.. I just worries me that people are still waiting for noa2 from last year..

Yeah I know how you feel. My wife and I are going through the same. She is here with me outside of the U.S though. What is difficult is that she is unable to work here and cannot find employment in America without me being there to help her. I can't travel so we are stuck here and I have to provide for us. She is unable to work here and if she was able to it would only be for a few months. Nothing permanent or help her in the future.

That is a long time when people are getting theirs in 2 weeks. There is honestly no excuse for the vast difference in time.

It's true that the people who answer the phone see what we see on the website. They give standard responses, such as the January 2nd response and 5-6 months etc. Call them back and ask them to speak to a Tier 2 supervisor - from what I've read here, they have access to a lot more information and may be able to help. Usual turn around time is 10 months and 10 to 20 days then again how fast NVC and embassy works

Yes they are never available right away, so they call you back only to say the same thing only a bit more rudely.. I will just wait ( Like I have a choice ?) I plan on visiting my husband in a month or so.. This is just becoming expensive...

So my case was transferred from Nebraska to Texas, not sure why the notice they sent me doesn't explain anything.... I'm so confused

We are at 131 days with PD 29th March at Nebraska. It looks like we are about to get approved very soon in the coming weeks. I wanted to know and get ready for the NVC stage. What pre preparations can i start right now to save my time after i get approved. Please provide helpful guidance on what do i need to prepare.

No, I have never been married before. I have a feeling that the background check may be for traffic related incident almost 9 years ago, but the charges were dropped in court. I don't know if that should have been issue or not. I am losing all hope, don't know what can I do.

I doubt that would be the issue. My husband has served time in state prison in the USA and it was not a problem. Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary?

Hi JFH,

I am the petitioner. I am hoping that's not the case and some criminal may have same name as me but 6 months is a loooong time for additional background check. I keep praying everyday that the case gets approved today but my hope is decreasing day by day.
