No news, just a FWIW get-it-off-my-chest update

I-485 NAO was 10/15/13 at Lee's Summit, MO

Biometrics was 12/5/13

Yesterday received a letter.

Good news: Get to skip the interview. Not a big deal but will save a day of vacation.

" U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has identified your application as a potential interview waiver case. This means that we may not need to interview you to complete your application. However, if we later determine that an interview is required, we will schedule an interview appointment and notify you."

Bad news: 6 month delay

"Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. Presently, we anticipate that delay to be approximately 6 months from the date of this letter. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from USCIS by that date, please contact our National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at the number below."

Got the same letter today. We already have the work permit, but were hoping this would come through sooner, as we want to do some international travel next summer and did not think we needed to apply for advance parole.

In the same boat, I received the same letter on Friday. It's not a huge deal, as I have my AP and work card, but still I hate not knowing how long it will take!

I got the same letter back on August 29, 2013 and still waiting.

Problem is that I need to get ssn to file taxes. We have no choice but to continue waiting.

Received our I-485 NAO approval letter Thursday so hopefully the backlog is unwinding. Which is good because the wife was getting antsy to visit Mexico.

Didn't need an interview.
