Hey everyone! Refer to my signature but I just got updated to Testing and Interview yesterday, hoping I either hear something about the date or at least get my EAD in the next few weeks since the Atlanta office is one of the slowest processing centres.

Any Atlanta filers?

Hi everyone,

I sent my I-130, I-485 and I-765 at the end of January but they were processed by USCIS on February 3. I have been following the timelines of other people here and it seems like my case is moving slower than usual, since I was expecting to have moved on to the "Testing and interview" phase by now. There is no activity on my EAD either, which is scary because I recently received a job offer that starts in about 6 weeks. I think my case has been going slow because I am from Pakistan and I have heard that after 9/11 people from certain countries, including mine, have to wait longer than others to go through the immigration process. Does anyone know if that is true?

Yours is probably just held up on the FBI Name Check, which is part of the background check. They can take 30-90 days to complete on average although some take longer and some seem to move real fast

I think so too. I see the timelines of certain countries moving really fast and I don't think that's a coincidence.

I did the biometrics on 2/21. I am OK with the process taking a little longer for my green card, but I really need the EAD ASAP because my new job starts in about 6 weeks! Should I contact USCIS about this?

From what I understand and see most EAD / AP applications generally get adjudicated between 10-12 weeks of filing AOS.

Since you applied at the end of January you should receive it between the middle to end of April, even if your background check has not been completed your EAD / AP will still be adjudicated :)
