Hello IrvineCAGuy....

I am new to this community.

did you able to correct the mistake? did USCIS made correction in your form? did your case approve without further RFE?

I am also similar boat as you were long back.

I filed I-130 for my sibling and mother long back. my mother's case was already approved. I got NOA1 and waiting for further notice for sibling's case. However, I recently realized that I made mistake in I-130 form for sibling. while filing I-130 for my brother, in question no 22 "Complete the information below if your relative is in the united states and will be apply for adjustment of status". I answered "N/A" for 1st part and left second part of petition as "BLANK"

while filing I-130 for my sister, I answered "N/A" to all 1st and 2nd part of petition. I was confused that time as this question was primarily for those applying for adjustment of status. I did not pay much attention to 2nd part of the question. what to do now to correct such mistake? does such mistake cause denial of I-130 for sibling?

Further, while filling I-130 for my youngest brother recently, I also made one more mistake in section D no 2 of I-130 which I realized after sending the form.

Question D.2 asks if "you have ever filed a petition for this or any other alien? if yes give name, place and date of filing and result". I answered "Yes" since I filed for my mother, elder brother and sister earlier in 2011. But I only mentioned the name and details of my brother and sister not the mother. I completely forgot to include my mother's name and her case details. my mother's I-130 was approved long back but we did not further process her case. Now i am in total confusion what to do? How can I correct such mistake. does it cause denial of I-130 of my brother?

suggestions are highly appreciated. thank you very much.

Newcomer, this is an old thread and IrvineCAGuy has not been online in more than four years, so I doubt he will reply to you.

Hopefully someone else will be able to help you though.

You can call their National Customer Service and you can ask the person about your petition. That is what I did when there is a question in form I-130 that is very confusing to me and he politely help me with the question.

Hello all,

New to the community and didn't want to create another post since my case is almost similar to this. Hope someone will help both of us.

Here is my situation:

Just received email from USCIS stating that my mom's I130 was approved and sent to Dpt of State. But when reviewing just now my mom's application, I noticed a mistake I made writing "N/A" on the choice of consulate. My mom lives in Ivory Coast and never been in US. I did not receive the hard copy of the I130 approval yet, but I'm worry now that that mistake could create some problems, as for instance an approval of I130 based on the assumption that my mom is already in US and will have apply for adjustment of status such as I485.

Please help...

Update

NOA2 received this Saturday stating that my mom's file was sent to NVC because it's the one in charge of consular processing. From that I conclude that USCIS corrected the mistake I made.

Now waiting few days before calling NVC for case number.

Hope that helps.
