I-134 Affidavit of Support question

Hi everyone,

I had a quick question about one of the lines of questions in the I-134

Question #11 has me choose.... I intend OR do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3. If you intend, indicate exact nature and duration of the contributions

What does that mean in that how do i answer?

Background info... it will only be me and my fiance that will be living together

For K1 you won't check either box in Question #11. I followed the Example I-134 here on VJ and did not have any issue.

11: You can leave both check boxes blank if you like, then in the space below my fiancé wrote N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence ) and we had no problem.

I ran into the same question, researched this and left both boxes blank, writing "N/A (K1 VISA PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE)" without issues.

My fiancé check intent for I-134, he said intent to provide all lodging expenses and food indefinitely. Not sure if its okay.

Hello there, we just had our case number last January. N i didnt rcv email n mails from the embassy. I tried to call them about 2x due to my frustrations. Am i goin to call them again or just wait for the embassy to mail me?

If you have a case number just go ahead , pay the visa, set your interview appt. and have your medical done.

Your responses are helpful. I am currently unemployed and in the process of changing employment. However, by the time iAthink my fiancé will need the affidavit of support I don`t think I will have this in time, so I am using my mother as a sponsor as well. Do I still have to use myself as a sponsor even if I do not qualify for the poverty guidlines or could I just use my mother?

Also, for question 11 would my mother still only put "N/A (K1 VISA PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE)"

I didn't check either box, then in the space below I typed K-1 fiancee visa.

The I-134 isn't designed with the K-1 visa in mind.

Yes you still provide your own I-134, and yes, your mother puts the same answer for #11 on her I-134.

My income does not meet the requires, but I am actively looking for employment. Do you think that it would be good to write a letter of intent?

It won't matter one way or the other if you include a statement that says you are looking for employment. They will simply use your co-sponsor for the financial aspects of the visa approval.
