I haven't gotten there yet, since I'm still in Canada and only spend weeks at a time in the US with my fiancé. So I can't say, with 100% confidence, which I would prefer until I'm living it… but as it stands, if I had to chose.

I would say the US. I am moving from one of the most expensive cities in the world to Southern California. Although the city I am from is beautiful, the same salary and job would not get us very far here as it would in SoCal. You cannot buy a house in my city for less than 1 million dollars, many of them being tear down quality. I purchased my condo for the same price as what our budget is to buy a house in SoCal close to the beach. I also love the climate much more. Although the US has it's differences from Canada, I still think that our money goes a bit further in the US.

I would choose the place where I would be happier, knowing that outside my job there is a family, friends and many other things to consider.

I would live in Canada without a second thought. The only reason we are living in the US is my job. And seeing my wife is the Canadian, I think she'd go with me. tongue.png

Are you my husband? / same thing for us.

Exact same thing for me. But I doubt my husband would move to Canada in an instant but he has mentioned he'd like to retire there.

My wife and I would love to eventually live back in Canada. I'm from Vancouver and when she first came up to visit me she totally fell in love with it, being from several small towns in the south and she never really realized the difference. And all my friends and a few family members all live there, and we miss them a lot. However, we both want to go back to school and move to Portland and even living in NW United States, our money will still go farther than if we were to attempt to start our lives in Vancouver. Maybe one day when we both have our degrees and Canada would actually want my wife, since it's a lot more difficult to immigrate there.

For me, it's more the people and the things to do there, not necessarily a job perspective. She would, however, probably make more money in Canada, I'd probably be making the same amount either way.

Hubby to be's business and huge family are in the states, but definitely my part of Canada has far nicer climate, way better food, and no pollution. We'll probably retire in Canada. We chose to live in US as I really think it would be tough on him to go from being so well known where he is to being just another person here. And definitely there's way more recreation type stuff here, but a lot of the differences are also Midwest versus coast. Our number one reason to live in Canada would be medical though.

same here. I think I'll try to go back to school. It's not the career field of I was thinking of but maybe it'll help.

I'm 50 years old been living in the US my whole life and sometimes I feel like I don't belong here. It can be very strange here at times, people flip like a switch.
