I sent my n400 today via usps express mail, along with the e-notification form. It's marriage based ctitizenship and I was supposed to send tax returns (which I didn't..more here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/480054-marriage-based-citizenship-3-5-years/). I sent almost all other supporting documents..marriage certificate, kids birth certificates, out joint bank account statements, etc

I was told USCIS will receive my package tomorrow (and that monday is a holiday)

Hello everyone. I will file my n-400 in February as well. My anniversary of be Legal Permanent Resident on May 20th. So my window opens on February 20th. My question is if can I send my n-400 on 18th but I will make sure that USCIS will get in on 20th. But I will sign form and check for February 20th.

Please be careful, if you read other posts this and other sites you'll see that if they get your application even one day early (regardless of how you date your application and your check) it will be denied. Some people have had their applications returned to them and some have gone all the way to the interview and were then told to reapply. This is only my opinion, but I strongly advise you to wait a couple of days after your eligibility date. It makes no sense to me to risk denial just to gain 1 or 2 days in a process that could drake 4 or 5 months. If you're going to be out of the country, prepare everything and have someone mail it for you.

how many forms do I have to send?

Only one form is required if filing for naturalization -- form N-400. I believe the latest edition is 21 pages.

You can review it at http://www.uscis.gov/n-400.

Timeline:

2005-04-14: met online

2005-09-03: met in person

2007-02-26: filed for K-1

2007-03-19: K-1 approved

2007-06-11: K-1 in hand

2007-07-03: arrived in USA

2007-07-21: got married, yay!

2007-07-28: applied for green card

2008-02-19: conditional green card in hand

2010-01-05: applied for removal of conditions

2010-06-14: 10-year green card in hand

2013-11-19: applied for US citizenship

2014-02-10: became a US citizen

2014-02-22: applied for US passport

2014-03-14: received US passport

is there any form for email notification?

Yes, you can submit form G-1145 along with your N-400 to get a text on your cell phone and/or an email with your case number, when it is acknowledged by USCIS.

You can then go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do to see the status of your case.

If you create an account at the same address, you can get automatic email notifications for any status updates.

If you do not file form G-1145 at the time you submit form N-400, you will have to wait for your NOA in the mail in order to get the receipt number you can then use to track your case online.

Timeline:

2005-04-14: met online

2005-09-03: met in person

2007-02-26: filed for K-1

2007-03-19: K-1 approved

2007-06-11: K-1 in hand

2007-07-03: arrived in USA

2007-07-21: got married, yay!

2007-07-28: applied for green card

2008-02-19: conditional green card in hand

2010-01-05: applied for removal of conditions

2010-06-14: 10-year green card in hand

2013-11-19: applied for US citizenship

2014-02-10: became a US citizen

My DH just sent out his N-400 packet today to Arizona lockbox. I didn't think about the electronic notification so I guess I will need to wait for the NOA. We were going to do in October when he first became qualified but then the government shut down and it took awhile to get everything together. Looking forward to be done dealing with Department of Homeland Insecurity.
