F-2B category petition time line

i am LPR petitioned for my son, unmarried over21, F2B category. I-130 recieved by uscis on Oct.13,and not approved yet.

can any of you folks tell when do i have to expect NOA2, the petition to be approved by uscis??

Depending on which service centre is handling the I-130, anything from ~6 - 18 months. Since F2B is backlogged around eight years then it will really make no difference when it's approved, provided it's before the priority date becoming current.

They are not in a big hurry to process petitions that have to wait for a visa number. Since there is about a seven year wait for him to become eligible to apply for the visa there is no rush.

thank you for your resposes, why iam really wrried is that i petitioned for my 2 sons at the same time. one was approved and given NVC number within only 1 month time and the other one is still waiting not approved yet.

they are taken as separate cases, so as said it doesn't matter when the i130, both will be sent to NVC and wait until the priority date becomes current in many years
