It doesn't have to take 22 months, i mean not in all cases. Take a look at my signature below. I think California Service Center is even better!

No it does not. PD does not get current when I-130 gets approved. I-130 can get approved anytime and PD in the Bulletin can still be backlogged.

For example, in your case your PD is Jan 9th 2014. As per VB, PD for F2A is Sep 8th 2013 for most countries. So lets say your I-130 gets approved next month. Then you are still not current as per VB and NVC will not process your case until your PD meets the qualifying date as per NVC. In other words your PD has to be remotely close to what is in the Visa Bulletin. So until VB shows your PD to be Jan 9th 2014 or greater than your case will not processed by NVC even if I-130 is approved.

My F1 OPT is about to expire (June, 2014), I-130 approved, PD 4 Nov 2013 (rest of the world). I can't extend my OPT, can I be a F1 student again? ( can't find a job either). Will they approve F1 visa after I filed I-130?

I am from India married to a United States permanent resident. My priority date is 9 january 2014. Staying apart is really difficult. My application is with California Service Centre. I dont know how long will it take!!!!

Guys come forward and share your experince. Discussing would help us understand our case status.

just wait for ur priority date to b current. If u r lucky ur proces wil b approved very soon. Mine priority date was may 12, 2013 and it got approved on Nov 1 and Nvc issued case number on Dec 15. So if u r lucky ur priory date dnt need to b current. If its current it wil take 5 mnth to b approved or rejected.

pd means priority date which means the date ur wife filed i-130 for u. Just google visa bulletin of feb 2014 n u wil know more abt it.

what service center is your file in?

if you are lucky enough to be at CSC, your noa2 approval could be any day now.....

if you are at VSC, like I am, it could much longer...

as far as interview? we were told to expect 6 month-1 year.

the real concern right now, for me, is the visa bulletin becoming current. And there's always the fears of retrogression

Currently California center approved withing 30-90days average. You are lucky to have California center. keep your arms crossed.
