NOA1 received

Well, the check has been cash and we have now received the NOA1.

Although, we both got a little depressed last night when we looked again @ the statistics. It looks like the "average" processing time is 6 months!

So, we met in January 2006.

3 weeks together in February 2006

1 week together in April 2006

5 months together (June - October)

Then I "moved" to Mexico

3, 4, 5 & 6 November 2006 - Renee came to Mexico

15, 16, 17 & 18 November 2006 - Renee came to Mexico

1, 2, 3 & 4 December 2006 - Renee came to Mexico

14, 15, 16 & 17 December 2006 - Renee and her 4 year old twin boys came to Mexico

30, 31, 1, 2 & 3 2007/2007 - Renee will be here

I haven't worked since May 2006. My funds are running VERY low, especially with all of the flight costs!

So, I may have to go back to the U.K. Once I get there we will probably only be able to see eacher once in 6 months. That is going to be very difficult.

How does everybody cope with this?

I know we're not the only ones suffering. AND we haven't been apart much yet.

Thanks for letting me rant. I feel a little better.

Paul

Its not easy to be apart, but what choice do you have? You two certainly are lucky to have been together so much. My fiance and I have been apart nearly 3 years now with 6 visits tossed in there. But we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and all we really care about, ultimately, is being together.

First i would like to say to you CONGRATULATIONS!!! on your NOA1 you are one step closer to your approval. And i would like to add also that it is very difficult to cope with being away from your loved one. January 23, 2007 will be 1 year since i have been apart from my fiance. Its very hard not sometimes but all the time. I call him as much as i can, and he calls me, and we email each other often, and talk on yahoo messenger almost everyday. Its very hard to hear i\his voice, or see him on the cam and i can't do anything it hurts alot. But one thing i tell him and i tell myself is that EVERYTHING! in life sooner or later comes to an end. So we are getting closer to being together. Everyday that goes by i say to myself we are 1 day closer to being together. Only the strong survive in this waiting game. which is what i feel this process is. In the end all of the holidays, birthdays, and romantic nights that you all missed will be made up plus alot more when you are finally together. Just pray alot, and try to encourage each other that no matter what you will make it. Its like a race its tough running a 3 or 4 miles race you feel as if you will never make it to the finish line but in the end when you do the sweat, you being tired, and all of the preparing, and energy you put into the race is worth it once you have crossed the finish line. You will make it god bless you both. (F)

That's why this site is called "Visa Journey". You are both in for a trip of your lives. Be patient, keep each other's spirits up and believe it will happen. If all goes well, this summer you will be planning a marriage.

Congratulation, good luck and learn to be patient.

Paul, I have followed your journey since you came to VJ, and I have to say I agree with TracyTN. And she can tell you that my husband and I had a lot of face-to-face time before we were together permanently, so I know of which I speak. You and Renee have been truly blessed so far to have more time together than most on this journey - if you keep that in mind I think the upcoming separation will be easier to bear.

From this side of the journey, I'd like to offer a purely pragmatic and practical spin on this. If you are close to broke, you have little to bring to the marriage. Perhaps returning home can help rectify this situation. Because my husband and I had so much time together before his visa was issued, he came to me with little cash and has often felt guilty over it. I have no resentment whatsoever towards him, but money is money and there have been times since his arrival that I've wished we had planned things a bit differently as far as finances go.

Remember...you must look to the future beyond the separation. Because it will be there, far away as it might seem now.

It is definatley difficult not to be physically together with the one that you love. But just think about the result in the end, when you are finally together with no more separations between you both. At least this is what I think about all the time. I have been together with my man for 5 and a half years (wow, has it been that long?!?) :P and it has definately been tough. But we have to be willing to make the sacrifice to be together in the end. Trust me, I know how you feel, I think all of us here on VJ know how you feel. Just hang in there and know that you are not alone! And if it makes you feel any better, I see my fiance about every 10 months and we have been together for over 5 years.
