Paul

I put my acceptance date as my NOA-1. My fiance received email and text at same day.

Good day!

Me and my boyfriend met online last March 2013 and meet 4 times in person. We went home twice and introduced him to my family and will be finally engage next month when he arrive. We applied for a K-1 visa and was already link to the check. Now we are waiting for the documents from USCIS and hopefully will start getting the requirements needed and submit them. How long will the K-1 visa be approve? We are hoping that I can come with him back to States next month. Or maybe not?

Would you think the the sort of time we've known each other will affect the approval?

I will heartedly appreciate your help.

Thank you so much!

Sound like you are at the beginning of this process. The guides here will help you with much of the I-129F petition process

Were you displaced/affected by typhoon Yolanda? If so you could request an expedite, otherwise you will have to be patient as the petition process can take months before approval of that so that things can progress to Manila and the actual visa applications.

It means your case is under review now. Check your application status by log on to CEAC website and put the receipt number that written on your NOA-1.

It takes a few months, so far mine has taken 5 months he is scheduled for an interview in Feb. It all depends on how fast they get all their information they need. But its not as fast as you file and your fiancée is here next month.. I wish

The NOA1 is the receipt then you will get a NOA2 this is the approval for the petition. Before I got my NOA2 they requested more evidence of the relationship examples pictures, 2 people writing letters saying the relationship was real. and they wanted 2 passport style pictures. Then mine went to uscis for visa processing then to the consulate in their country...

Yes u can go to USCIS.gov and check status and put receipt number .... Next you will need a case number

... some are fast and some take longer ... I don't think anyone really knows why in spite of many theories ... in our case ... we filed for K-1 on October 10, 2013, received NOA1 on October 14 ... NOA2 on November 15 and had interview in Manila on Jan 9 ... visa in hand today on Jan 13 ... so exactly 3 months. I think the key is to have all documents in order and solid evidence ... we had been dating since April 2011 and met in person 18 times so there was no questions at all about anything significant during the interview...basically take fingerprints, and the oath... and off to window 72 and where to send the visa...real easy and painless process overall ... good luck
