Hey there. I'm just starting the process of filing a K-1 for my Serbian fiancé and I'm really nervous because the instructions on the K-1 form are so vague as to what I should file as evidence of our relationship. We've done the statements of intent to marry and the statement that says the dates we met and were together, but I did not keep my past airline tickets because I didn't know at the time that I was going to need them. All I have is one passport stamp that says I entered the country where we met... This doesn't feel adequate to me. What else do you suggest I submit??? Would it help to give statements from my friends who have seen us together?

Help please! Thank you so much!

Did you make any photos of both of you together? also photos together with family and friends.

Emails or telephone records would help.

Good Luck

From the guides above,

1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file.
2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e) together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a local photo store such as Walgreens (if at all possible) or if not on a high quality printer. Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back.
3. The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate letters and emails, stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

Use photos together during your visit as secondary, backup evidence to go along with the passport stamp. Try to find any other third party evidence you can. Do you have any receipts from the trip? Use an ATM while there? Stay in a hotel? Use credit cards? Still have the credit card statement for purchase of the airline ticket(not solid proof, but can go along with the other receipts and passport stamp)?

My bride to be and I submitted the following:

1. Photos of our trip to Singapore together. *Make sure these are photos of you and her together. Include a variety of shots of you two having fun togther. It's also good to include pictures of your families, especially of either of you with each other's respective families.

2. Receipts, ATM slips, and boarding passes of our visit.

3. Gift receipts of anything I may have sent her and her family.

4. We backed up all our chats/texts. We use data text/call services like LINE, Skype and Viber which you can back up all your chat histories for print out. *You dont need to give them every line of history from the past year, just a few pages for each month to show an ongoing relationship. Try to grab chats where you talk about your future and wedding plans etc.

5. Phone bills with line details of calls and/or texts/data transfers (LINE Skype of Viber use data).

6. Emails, cards and letters

Good Luck!
