Hello everyone!

My wife and I submitted the case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN on May 29th, 2013. Now today I receive an email, saying the case has been transferred to another office. Google tells me that they do that to help ease the workload on certain offices and that it's generally a good thing.

Now, my question is: does our waiting period start over after this? It'd be a shame after waiting for 6.5 months to wait the same amount of time or even more. Is there any chance the case will be slightly prioritized over other cases at that new local office? It's a NY one, by the way,

Thank you for your time!

take a look at the spreadsheets. you'll can guestimate how long yours might take based on others.

Thank you! If I read that correctly, it usually takes about 3 weeks or less. Not entirely sure if I figured it out properly though. But right now our case is in NY field office. Hopefully their workload is less than at that other center.

My husband received email yesterday that his petition was transferred to our local office, San Francisco, today! We have a May 13, 2013 PD. I too am wondering how long to expect.

Good Luck and let's hope we get news of NOA 2 approval this year!

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
