Depends on the embassy/consulate. Some are happy with just current income and others want you to have it at least the year prior.

For Ghana like many of the other high fraud embassies they want to see past and current income above the guidelines.

You have to show a good steady job history.

I strongly suggest you go to the NVC filers thread and read Post #1 and #2 so you can get familiar with the NVC stage. Much to know and do. While you are waiting for your USCIS approval you can get your papers in order.

You better get a co-sponsor lined up previous not meeting and you just started a new job won't fly in Ghana.

The person can be any US citizen or LPR who lives and works anywhere in the US. They don’t have to live in your state, they don’t have to be related to you. They just need to meet the guidelines for the amount of people in their household plus your husband.
