My husband is on pension and ammount is low ,than in poverty guideline,in Alaska State,He doesnt have anybody else to be a cosponsor...We dont know what to do...Pls any advice....!!

Without meeting the I-864 requirements, you cannot get a green card.

You need a Joint Sponsor. Any USC or LPR friend who meets the I-864 requirements for you is okay.

No JS = no green card

If you have no JS, then perhaps he can move to your country?

Has he any good friends. Neighbors? It does not have to be a relative. This is a bit odd for me to be saying, but is he active in a church? Any social groups? Close Friends?

Might cost some money but there are organizations that help out immigrants for this kind of thing, maybe check in your local area if there is such a thing. I needed a co-sponsor and couldn't find one in my circle of people I know, then I found an organization that helped me with that, I did have to pay for the service though.

I wonder.my husband has medical problems,after divorce with ex wife he gave all to them-big house,second car and etc..now he lives in elderly housing

..his son, sometimes,help him to drive to clinic,i never heared that he bougth to father some food and visited him....all the excuses are "busy"...we ask for cosponsor and he sayed "no",cus too much liability.....close friends-same...

in Ukraine people are more poor,but as for parents and children always help ,even with minimum their have...

Being also from Alaska I have not seen -25 for a long time but maybe you are far out somewhere. I feel sorry for your predicament but at the same time I have a strong belief that there should be a huge banner on the home page here to inform men about the income requirements before they get too far into this. Guys just do not look two months in advance. Lives can get ruined.

I only have one suggestion other than you both moving out of the country to a less expensive place, not even sure Ukraine would be a good choice, maybe Bulgaria.

It 'might' be possible, depending on the size of his pension to establish residency down south in the lower 48 states where the poverty level is lower. You can cut $5000 off the poverty level by living in the southern states. If he was looking ahead enough to get you an I.D. when you first arrived then you could travel there.

My husban coming to Kiev next week and ll spend 1.5 month here...he likes Ukraine...!!But spend many years in Alaska ...he still not sure what to do...

pencion 1700$.thats it....the ex-wife tooked all from him,when divorce...cus he got relation with me..(thats long story..)

in Ukraine i have nice place to live,but for many.reason he still afraid to come here permanently..Medicine here very

poor and its important for him..also he is afraid to close himself in the house,without our language knowlege....
