what supporting documents do i need to attached with my I-129F application form b4 sending it to USCIS, i understand that i have to clip on the I-797 of I-130 but besides that what (documents) else do i need to send with it??

May I ask why we still tell people to go to the K-3 or should we be telling them the CR-1?

It's not officially defunct. The USCIS still accepts the I-129f for K3. Folks can apply.

I actually have no strong opinion on the K3, I just know I've never seen anyone on VJ get one since I joined, but we're just a small sample group, and without an official line from USCIS, I dont feel comfortable withholding the guides nor telling people it's not longer in use. This is why I simply reply with the link to the guides, rather than passing on my opinion.

K3 is applied for WITH the IR/CR-1 (or, rather, both petitions are submitted for those visas) so they still inevitably end up with the better visa. I heard recently that someone was told the two petitons are just immediately joined, but I don't know the source.

They're granted about 99% of the time because policy at the USCIS made the NVC change their policy.

I highly suggest as there is a Canadian beneficiary to read this wiki until your eyes bleed and you know it by heart. LOL

Would a K3 visa be faster than a K1 Visa to be processed and approved? I haven't filed for the K1 yet and just found this site. I see the k1 for the most part takes anywhere from 8 months to a year. Very few cases were shorter but I have not seen the time frame for a k3 process.

Also which would be easier (less paper work and hassle).

No. K3s are rarely issued at all anymore (which is why you'll not have seen any timelines). Also, for a K3, you must be married and have already submitted the I-130 for IR/CR-1.

I-129f for K1 is currently the fastest route.

The K1 is not, however, less hassle and less paperwork. It's more expensive in the long run, as a K1 (or a K3) holder must adjust their status after entering the USA (and in the K1's case, marrying within 90 days of entry).

Chloe, I hope you only sent a copy of the I-797 and not the original, or at least made yourself a copy of the information on that I-797.
