September 2007: Met online via social networking site (MySpace); began exchanging messages.
March 26, 2009: We become a couple!
September 10, 2009: Arrived for first meeting in-person!
June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!
June 21, 2010: Engaged!!!
September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

You will need to get that Jersey accent and sometimes I don't understand them.. Haha Your going to be close to New York.. Can go ice skating in Times Square, horse and buggy ride through Central Park, and experience so many celebrations!! Also lots of shopping everywhere!! Haha.. I miss the pineapple in Jamaica and think it is the best in the world.. I stayed at a resort there and made sure the butler brought me fresh pineapples everyday.. Thank you for sharing smile.png

Hot showers are very important!! Haha

Haha! Thanks TimandAna. He loves my accent and I have been learning his a little. Been to NY earlier this year and I almost froze and as a result I didnt get to go out much...but Time Square is a must in the future.

Oct. 22, 2014: DS-261 completed and submitted to NVC

Oct. 31, 2014: Paid AOS invoice


Dec 08, 2014: Sent in IV & AoS packages

Dec 11, 2014: Package received by NVC

Dec 12, 2014: Received email from NVC acknowledging receipt. I assume this is our scan date

Dec 25, 2014: Paid IV bill

Dec 29, 2014: Funds deducted from bank account. DS-260 became available, and was completed

Dec 30, 2014: Submitted DS-260

Feb. 12, 2015: Case Complete with NO checklist! whoot, whoot!

Mar. 25, 2015: Received P4. Interview

April 29,2015: Completed medical examination

May 13, 2015: Interview Date APPROVED :dancing:

May 19, 2015: Received Package

Oct. 22, 2015: Travelled to my new home :) (In order to get IR-1 Green Card) Expiration date on IR-1/CR-1 Visa - Oct. 29, 2015

Nov 10, 2015: Received Social Security Card

Jan 4, 2016: LPR Green Card arrived.

I currently live in my fiance's country and this is what I miss most from home:

1. Family (Not seeing them for a year was difficult, but I also think it gives me some small perspective on what fiance with face when we go the States.)

2. Fully functional kitchen (the oven here is from (early) soviet times and pretty sure it wasn't cleaned ever).

3. Ethnic food (Hankering for some Ethiopian food, wish I could conquer the skills for making quality injera!)

4. Pizza (I never knew I liked it so much until I didn't have good pizza any more!)

What fiance looks forward to in the US:

1. Warmer and brighter winters

2. Exploring the many places he has yet to discover (New cities, state/national parks, etc.)

3. More employment options and better compensation

4. Broad availability of cuisines (Although the only foods he bookmarked for our upcoming visit is Willy's and Chik-fil-A! Hah.)

What fiance will miss from home (from what we've discussed and my own assumptions):

1. Family, friends, and hearing his language spoken by many (I'm working on my language skills, but man it's tough!)

2. Freedom in nature (He thinks there are lots of rules in the US. Stay on the path! Don't walk here/there!)

3. Foods free of preservatives (Yeah, we can find them. But food here is so pure.)

4. Brown bread, honey, jam, and other national treats

5. Decent public transit and living in a walkable city
