Hello , I am an american citizen. I applied for CR1 visa for my husband in October 2011. He had his interview in October 2012. Since then he has been put under 221g admin. Process.

We have been now married for 2 years and I am wondering if my visa category will change to IR1 since we are married for 2 years.

When I filed for him we were newly married so that's why his visa category was CR1. If anyone knows or has any information regarding this issue please give me some answers.

It would be helpful if you would both fill out your timelines. Others can both assist you better and benefit from this information.

When you are issued a visa, it will be an IR-1 instead of a CR-1 since you've now been married for two years.

You don;t need to do anything. As mentioned above, the IR-1 visa will be automatic if and when you are approved.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

As the two previous posts stated, the change will be automatic when you are approved for the visa so no, you don't have to do anything. You might want to follow up on your case though.

Lately it takes longer than a year from petition to interview. In some countries and areas there is mandatory AP which can last for years.
