Hi Me4u, I am Lucy from Hong Kong. I just registered a minute ago!

I understand very much how frustrated you are now as my boyfriend and I are going thru the same situation. We submitted our application in end July and got the NOA1 by 8th August (the receipt date 31st July 2006). Since then we have heard nothing back from the USCIS yet.

My boyfriend called USCIS several times but those telephone clerks were not able to advise anything. He requested the operator to transfer his line to the case officer responsible his case but the operator refused so.

I am very surprised most the users who post in the site got their NOA2 in just 2 months time.

May I know your timeline?

Best wishes,

lucy

I know how you feel. Someone with an NOA1 date a week after mine got approved before me. I'm happy for the person and trying not to be jealous... but... it's still hard. I thought the same thing, "Maybe I forgot something, or maybe the way I packaged it made it too confusing for them, or maybe..."

Yeah, it's not fair. Cases should be adjudicated in the order they were recieved. But what is whining and getting depressed gonna accomplish? Nothing. It is, unfortunately, the way it is.

Could you fill in your timeline so we can see when you sent your petition and when your NOA1 was? If you're outside of normal processing times you could get a senator/congressman to light a fire under their butts... but if you're not outside of normal processing times there's really not much you can do.

Hi, I went through a similar experience and feelings. The good news, and hope your situation turns out the same, is that my NOA2 approval was only a a couple of weeks behind the others I saw. Hang in there.

Hang in there. I was in the last group of people with the same NOA1 date to be approved and then they never bothered telling I was approved for an additional week- which was really hard to get through!

Cases are handled in the order that are recieved, but some are more or less complicated to sort through.

I worried endlessly about an RFE. One reason was the Moroccan immigration agents seem to like to stamp my entry and exit dates on the same page and it made it a little more difficult to read. Add to that the last exit stamp didn;t stamp clearly and at the gate a morrocan immigration agent hand wrote over the number to make it clear. I was sure USCIS would think I did that. I included boarding passes and other evidence of being in the country at that time so I guess my ajudicator finally sorted it all out. I never received an RFE.

You will get your soon and all this anxiety will be long forgotten! I promise.

Hang in there, there is nothing fair about this "process" and it is a huge waiting game. You will get your approval in time, and just need to focus on not letting the stress of waiting ruin the love you two share for each other.

In our case, we filed while a great number of people were still waiting form March! A few even longer, due to the IMRA fiasco. Then we watched as approvals started flowing first just before out NOA1 date, then after... For a few weeks it seemed that filers on our week had been jumped over when we finally got our NOA2 too!

So just do what you can not to panic, and hang in there! It is, as many others here at VJ have noted, not a process for the faint of heart.

Good luck on your journey!
