Just got off the phone with USCIS and feeling super frustrated. Spoke with a Tier 1 person who said that I WAS outside of normal processing times and that I could file a service request. Then after a few minutes, he says that since Nebraska is processing cases from Nov. 5th, that I cannot put in a service request (my NOA1 date was Nov. 15th).

So I ask to be transferred to a Tier 2 supervisor, hoping that he'll be able to do a service request for me. He tells me that I AM within normal processing times because the processing time is 7-9 months. I told him that I know of other people who filed in November who have put in service requests and he tells me that the system won't even allow him to and that I should wait another 45-60 days and then call if I haven't heard anything.

UGHHHHHH! So annoyed. At least I "only" wasted 1 hour on the phone call.

If they send it first class, he should have it about 2 days from when it's sent out. I'm sure no matter what rate it's sent at he'll have it within 4 business days of when it's sent. He can always opt to return the response overnight.

Iranians are all trying to get out of the country so It is kinda odd that the Iranians are no where to be seen on this website...

That's what I was thinking! It's so odd. Are you in Iran or is your spouse?

I am the beneficiary.

Call back again and insist on speaking to a tier 2, dont give up until transferred!

How long it will take to get any feedback on service request

What's with the mass Iranian exodus if you don't mind me asking?

Oppressive regime, very few opportunities for any sort of growth, the whole enforcement of religion thing, amongst other things. I got in trouble with the police there once when I was 13 because I had my hair out -_-

A lot more can be said, though it may be best not to do so on a public forum :/

I am the beneficiary.

Also not to mention the Western sanctions that have totally crippled the economy and the governments single-minded devotion to nuclear and military development at the cost of consumer goods and services.

In point of fact I actually consider it odd that so many Iranians are on here, considering that the US has not had formal diplomatic relations with Iran since 1979 (I know our business is done there by the Swiss embassy but it still seems to me that this would tend to make everything a lot more complicated).

Got you. Thought something new had happened that I was unaware of. I feel for you, truly. Apart from religion, the UK is becoming like that.

Good point. Crime is also at an all time high because of the crippled economy and there's no import of medicine etc., so most things used now are expired. There has been many a botched surgery in the past few months.

Yea that certainly makes it difficult. However, Iranians are obsessed with America and think it's the greatest place ever. The government is very anti-West but most of the people loooove Americans, so they try nonetheless.

Nothing more since the sanctions. :) Really? How so?? I had no clue.

I am the beneficiary.
