How much do you need to drink to be considered a "habitual drunkard" (for immigration purposes). I wanna know what's the max I can drink before that line is crossed.

05/14/2009 -- Green Card expired.

05/23/2009 --- Check cleared bank.

05/26/2009 -- Received NOA (NOA date May 15, 2009, guess they aren't deporting me).

05/29/2009- Biometrics Notice date

06/01/2009- Received Biometrics Letter

06/18/2009 - Biometrics

09/23/2009 - date of decision to approve (letter received), just waiting for card. No online updates whatsoever.

I would venture to say that multiple DUI/DWI's and/or multiple public intoxication arrests would probably have an adverse negative effect on an immigrant's continued residency.

Is being a habitual drunkard for immigration purposes a good thing?

I thought the immigration process could turn you INTO a habitual drunkard. :lol:

Seriously, stick within the approved alcoholic limits given out by each countries' Health Department and you'll be fine. Go over the limit and then I'd say you have a problem. Same goes for binge drinking.

If you're a habitual drunkard you've probably had to deal with the USCIS for too long :)

I googled it and came up with this link to "Recent Legislation on Inebriates in England and the Colonies" ... from 1900. I was amused, but then when I'm avoiding studying it doesn't take too much :)

hehe.... my mom and dad drink a couple of beers every night after work. We have fun playing games and watching tv while we have coke and they have beer. :P But they usually drink a lot too at least twice a week.

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!
