My husband got his citizenship and went to Morocco on a US passport, his Moroccan one was expired. Does he have to leave in 90 days like anyone else with a US passport?

He could simply get a new Moroccan passport they are not required to give up their citizenship they can maintain dual citizenship or just request and extension in the country Americans do that quit frequently.

no Morocco will not deport it's citizen. And since he was born there I think that he has an indefinite stay even if he enters in a a US passport, they can see he was born in Morocco in his US passport. America will not deport and will not deny him entry whenever he gets back because he is a citizen also. For his expired passport he can renew it there go to Algeria to get out of Morocco, stay there for couple of hours and then get back to Morocco from Algeria with a Moroccan passport and that American has a real indefinite time to stay in Morocco. I might be wrong about how long he can stay but I know for sure Morocco will not deport him.

He is now a legal citizen in the U.S. He also can stay in Morocco because he is a citizen there also. His Moroccan passport doesn't have anything to do with his citizenship in Morocco. He will surely travel with his U.S passport from here on out.

If you are no longer with him , you need to let it go and not think about whether or not he comes back to the U.S. there is no way to control that .

He doesn't have to some he is a citizen of Morocco. My uncle goes to my home country and enters in a US passport and they never have him a period of time to get out of the country I'm 90 days. They cannot do that to citizens even if they don't have their passport. You have to just leave him alone now. All you are doing to yourself is burning your nerves, for what? An ex husband you can't control how long he wants to stay in his home country. Move in with your life and leave him, you will be more relaxed. I know you are frustrated but that won't help you at all.

Sorry for the misspellings I hate auto correct, sometimes it makes it so wrong lol

Silkafi88, first of all I dont have to do anything, he is still legally my husband. I did not ask for personal advise from you just what the laws are. So kindly keep your opinion to yourself. Immigration said he had to abide by us passport rules im just double checking on that. Anything beyond that scope dont care to hear.

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, I didn't mean to do that. And I'm sorry if I made you feel like Im imposing my opinion on you that was not my intention either. I was trying to just help you and let you know that even if he crosses the border with his US passport they can't deport him because he is a citizen. Second you said you don't want him back there and you said you are not together so I assumed he is your ex husband. Bottom line is Im sorry for trying to help I guess I offended you.

One more point immigration is wrong when you travel with a US passport, that passport is just an identification document recognized world wide. When he goes to Morocco on a US passport he abides the Moroccan laws because Morocco doesn't go by US laws or rules. Just saying that whatever they told you is wrong. Good luck to you.
