You will find their names here. Dr Seiden in Toronto is no longer taking patients per his website. There is no 'best' really - they all do the same examination. The appointment is roughly an hour + with time for travel to and from of course. The price is whatever they charge - somewhere around $300-$400 and it is not covered by your provincial health coverage.....generally cash only but each Dr has their preferences.

Your profile doesn't indicate your location or where your VISA interview will be but you may find that doing it in the city where your interview is is possible, you just need to leave enough time to pick it up prior to your interview at the consulate.

I went to see Dr. Zatzman....here is my review of my medical; once I had my interview letter; I called and booked an appt. see my review for the rest....it took 7-10 days before my report was ready to be sent out or picked up. When you call the physician of your choice; they will tell you how much the medical costs....what you have to bring and how long it will take for the report to be ready for pick up or courier....average cost 300-400

You can choose to book your appt at a Montreal Physician a few days before your interview, others have done it, and then pick it up from them so that you can take the results to your interview. It requires that you arrive earlier in Montreal...have your appt and then wait to pick it up a couple days and then attend your consulate interview.

Hopefully someone who has done that recently could tell you more details.

If you live within a decent distance of Toronto it's worth doing it on your own time well before the interview.

If you are just going to Montreal then you need 3 days after the medical (So if medical is Tues, you would get results on friday) not including weekends. I went to Montreal on Monday, had the medical on Tues, got results on Friday, then the following Monday I had the interview and flew home the same day to Alberta.

I would check the costs of tickets etc to decide what is the best for you. The medical exam in Montreal was $280ish. Hotels were $100 night approx for something downtown. My hotel was the center-ville best western and was very clean and nice. Easy walk to the bus which is cheaper to take than a cab ($9 vs $40) and takes the exact same amount of time.

So check into the cost of flights vs staying in a hotel for XX number of days. I would have been cheaper for me to fly to and from Montreal twice than stay in the hotel for the 7 days.
