Hello everyone, hope this is the right place to post my question, if not feel free to kick my butt!

I entered the country last 24th July on a spouse visa and paid my immigrant fee on 13th September. On the elis.uscis website it states that my payment has been received (got the bank confirmation too) and they're processing my request. Few days ago I received a letter dated 2nd October that says that I still need to pay my fee. We tried to call the customer service and on the lady on the phone said that our process for a green card was indeed stopped because we still needed to do the payment. They suggested we send a hard copy of the receipt of the payment but we only have the receipt we got via email. Do you think that is good? And also does any of you know what's going on? Has this ####### ever happened to you?

I would call again but it's almost impossible to talk to someone that is really well informed about anything.

Any help is really appreciated :)

How about, you get a copy of your bank statement that shows the amount that was debited on your bank account and send them together with the receipt you got on your email.

ELIS is really messed up. Sorry. I don't see it getting fixed till next year.

In the meantime, hammer a Tier 2 Human at USCIS, over the telephone.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yes that's what we thought made more sense hoping they don't mess things up again! I am going to print the request too and send it along with the payment. Just seems impossible to understand what the heck they want!

I hope by "next year" you mean in a couple of month and not a whole year! We got to talk to a human but how do I get to talk to a tier 2 human? Getting a person to answer the phone was hard enough, how do I get a higher tier person to talk to me? Is there any secret password or I just ask?

Have you ever seen this kind of things happening and how long does it take to get it fixed and how many ulcers do you think I am going to have by the end of it? Also let's pretend it's going to take a whole year, am I going to be deported if my visa expires and I still don't have a GC?

to talk to a human on the USCIS call center phone, you call, don't say or do anything until someone yabbers at you in spanish, then say english please, after you get someone ask them for a tier 2 or ISO. Easy pie. :D
