hey kath & rob,

I got a feeling, i'll be experiencing that too for next month  . i was approved thru CSC as well for greencard and USCIS infopass i made, said that i am approved EAD sept 20 but the case was on pending thru online. So i called USCIS about it, and they said i'll give 45 days (which is dated Jan. 01) since the approval of my greencard which is Nov. 17. and i will hear about the mailing of my EAD card.

I demand about it bcos i paid already, i reasoned out that i don't want to know that they mailed it in a wrong hand and might interested to used my EAD. They assured me to keep in touch whatever ciscumstances happened about my EAD since I'm already a greencard holder.

I got the same email-letter you did and my card arrived a few days later. However, i haven't been approved for Greencard yet so this actually helps me as I would like to get a SSN and can now do so with the EAD.

Claudeth did the EAD too and got it in December of last year and then received her GC in February so didn't even have to use the EAD, her first job didn't start until March. It was a waste of money but, after reading others' posts, we decided to do it because it was taking others up to a year for the AOS interview. I am thankful CSC starting issuing the GCs without an interview

We applied for an EAD for my husband and never heard another thing about it till the date of our Green Card appointment (filed in Feb, GC appt in August). At that appointment they had the application for the EAD in our file and the worker stated that he was just going to deny it as there was no need for him to have it with an approved Green Card. I'm assuming if he needed additional information at the GC appointment or if there was some reason to delay the issuance of the GC he would have approved the EAD in the meantime. In your case my guess is that the issuance of the EAD was just an oversight. I've heard of individuals having to turn in their EADs at the Green Card appointment if they get approved just so it is not out there floating around.

I have to admit I was a little frustrated that they sat on his EAD application for several months when it could have done him some good previously. Truth is my husband kept working with his expired 90 day EAD during that time frame and we felt kind of justified as we had paid the money for the EAD, were trying to follow the rules, and my husband would have been stir crazy just sitting at home for 6 months.

Anyway that is my 2 cents,
