i just got an RFE regarding this. Ugh !cray5ol.gif

I'm wondering if my fiance and I (the petitioner) will both need to re-submit our letter of intent. Or I alone could send it. Also, we're planning on getting married in NY. Anyone knew where I could find their "relevant state's law of marriage"?

Sincerely,

Nathan

Nathan,

I think the safest thing would be for both of you to re-submit your letters of intent, so it's clear that you both intend to marry in New York within 90 days of your fiance's entry into the United States. There are links to the New York law and related documents at posts 49 and 50 of this discussion thread, so you can include that material as well.

Good Luck!

Congrats flowershoes and mstewart! dancin5hr.gif I am so happy for you guys!

I'm seeing more and more same-sex K-1 applications getting approved really quickly. Based on the last seven same-sex K-1 applications I've seen, the I-129F's were approved in about 60 days (average) from the NOA1 date.

Below are their timeline links:

If you would like to be added on this list, please let me know. I'm sure VJ members would appreciate seeing others' progress on here. Personally, this gives me really good vibes. There's so much love and support in the VJ community. It makes this long waiting process bearable.

Again, congrats to everyone approved and good luck to the rest of us! goofy.gif

You are more than welcome to include us on your list. Keep up the good work!

We got an RFE for same reason and we sent letters of intent again specifying in what city and state we would marry. They only need the state but I included the city as well. Got NOA2 a few days after they received RFE.

We also got RFE with the same request and we sent the letters of intent again stating in which state we are going to get married

we did not include the city though because they were asking only state

so its always better to give them what they ask for and nothing more

Well, as of 9:15 pm this evening (Oct 30) we officially got electronic notice of our NOA2 (approved!) after submitting our RFE response!!!

They acknowledged receipt of our RFE response on Oct 3, so it took them 27 days to approve it... not the best turn around time but we're thrilled we are moving on to the next step!!

For those of you who have been asking about whether to revise one letter or two letters of intent (i.e. which state you intend to marry in), I made the decision to just send one (mine, the petitioner). The RFE was addressed to me as the petitioner and asked (me) to declare which state we are marrying in, so I didn't see any reason to re-send both... just gave them what they requested, and finally moving forward again!

Feel free to send us a message if you have further questions... Continued best wishes and luck for everyone!

Congratz! I have just sent mine, (just one letter as well coming from me, the petitioner). They received my RFE on October 31, so I'm guess it should be approved by Nov 27? hopefully won't be that long. :)

Goodluck on the upcoming interviews, etc.

Just received our NOA1, the start of my VisaJourney begins today.

I sent everything mentioned by our fellow members, Intent to Marry (State of NY) from both of us and applicable house bill. Money (Obviously), passport stamps, boarding passes, application, dissolution of previous marriage, naturalization certificate and cover letter. I might have sent more but I can't remember.

Hope everything goes well. Wish me luck :)
