I know I had asked before on this forum about filing a service request- my PD is 10/1 so it is pretty close to some people on here (nearly September). Just wanted to share what happened when I called USCIS today.

I talked to the first person on the phone (tier 1) and the representative did it for me. She just asked me the normal info/ questions and confirmed that I was in fact out of processing time. There was no mention of waiting 60 days after the transfer or anything.

I have no idea if it will help, but at least I tried and they did let me. I know some people from September and October said that they weren't allowed to file a request...but maybe it has to do with the representative so try again? Because I had no problem at all doing it.

I had the exact same experience and even enjoyed a laugh with the representative. no wait time either!!

Just as an update, no case # yet, but call representative telling me my case is now added to the system. (not sure when to expect to receive case # from here)

It's some minor progress but honestly I think NVC has too many small steps to to through, however I guess some will like many small updates than no update at USCIS.

IR1 applied from overseas

NOA1: 18 Sep 13 (NBC)

NOA2: 19 Mar 14 (CSC)

NVC received: 21 Mar 14

NVC case # assigned: 22 Apr 14

NVC case complete: 11 Aug 14

Interview: 2 Sep 14 (Japan)

I wonder what they meant by 'added to the system'? They received it on March 21, I think you should be getting a case number soon... I think others have heard a similar statement just before a case number was generated.

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

Did you send originals? If so, no.

Unless you mean NVC, in which case, no. But that's because they send the packet to the Embassy and you get your originals back at interview.

Did the service request help you at all? Did you get an NOA2 soon afterwards?

Tomorrow is the 15th days since I put in the service request and still haven't heard anything yet. Filed on 11 September.

If i don't hear anything by tomorrow I can call again and put in another SR - which means I then have to wait another 15 days before I can call again…………...
