Yeah, I figured as much too. Too bad we all couldn't be sent where there isn't a massive pile of cases already waiting to be touched.

Your hubs recently came to visit as well, right? The first week or two is always the worst when you have to get used to going back to the phonecalls and messages. Sigh. And I'll def let y'all know if I even get acknowledged by his office. I called his head office in Dallas, and the man who answered the phone was very polite and helpful. I asked if I could just send it straight to DC, and he said I could, but that it would be re-reouted to Dallas anyway because that office handles requests for investigations of cases within a federal system. lol. Here goes nothin'!

Yes, he just went back a week ago. True, the first two weeks are the hardest. I am still crying everyday .. cray5ol.gif I just miss him so much, dammit!

Mr. Blueberry contacted his congressman back in December, I think? Or maybe it was November. We wanted to find out where our petition actually is... So yeah, we got their standard "6 more months" BS and they never answered our question. Ha!

But, good luck! :)

When two people are meant for each other, no time is too long, no distance is too far, no one can ever tear them apart.

I feel ya. My eyes are still kinda sore, but that also may be contributed to the poor sleep I get initially after he leaves.

Well that's really helpful. I've seen "6 months" thrown around in every situation where someone calls or writes about their case on here. Why do they say 6 months? Is it so you don't get mad if it's less or less likely to complain when it's actually 6 months or a little over? Ugh. I never thought it would take this long when I first started gathering my stuff in late 2012 ... and here we are in 2014. Ay ay ay.

I also wrote letters to both of my senators and my congresswoman, with responses from all so far. They have all contacted USCIS on my behalf and said that september filers are looking at April right now with how processing times are going. Its just very frustrating I haven't seen my husband in 6 months. I cant wait to go see him in March. This whole being separated is very hard on both of us.

That's relieving to hear! I hope my Texas Senator's office (highly doubt he would do it personally) actually looks into it and I hear something back from them. They said they would contact me through USPS. How did yours contact you?

I'm sorry you haven't seen your hubby in 6 months. :( The longest I ever went was 8 months because we were saving up for our wedding, thinking the entire K-1 Visa process would be done before then ... and we were wrong. That was the worst, but I'm glad you get to see him soon! Just stay strong!

One of my senators contacted me by phone to go over the whole immigration process, the other one contacted me by mail and my congresswoman contacted me by email. They all requested privacy statements which I gladly filled out and faxed back to them. I figured the more phone calls they received by government agencies the faster they would work. Well one can only hope.

I just hate being away from my husband. I can't wait to see him in March its just not coming fast enough. I don't think there is any fast way to go through this.

Mrs Blueberry,

everyday IS HARD! I completely understand. Just an fyi, I called yesterday to USCIS and was advised that my case is at NBC in Missouri. They wouldn't tell Mr. Blueberry where the case is? she told me that NBC in KS is just where the receipts come from for the NOA1. I am sure it is all BS... I also contacddted my congresswoman just to stay on top of things.

We all know how you feel. It doesn't seem fair to see other people with their spouses carrying on with their lives while we have to wait to start the rest of our lives. But as I've said many times before, this whole time apart will be a blink of the eye in comparison to the time you'll be together, which will be decades! Just keep optimistic and try to plan for the life you'll live together instead of being reminded that you're apart. :)

I'm glad you're being proactive too about contacting government officials to get involved! They need to hear more of what's going on from the applicants instead of trusting USCIS!

Not sure.. you might be smile.png

My friend is from Everett, WA!

Welcome to the September thread. Right now we are waiting for USCIS to finish transferring July filers, then August.. and then September!

Hopefully some time in February.. Hopefully.

Hoping, hoping, hoping for you, Blueberry!!! goofy.gif Bring on a February NOA2!!!!! dancin5hr.gif

Hi everyone, just checking in since it's been a while. So news is that we're being transferred? I'm assuming that Overland Park was just a storage unit for the time being or a placeholder?

Hubby visited over the holidays and left on Sunday. It was a tough goodbye, but he should be back in March to visit with his father as well (his 2nd time in the states).

I send a letter to my senator yesterday along with signed privacy release forms pertaining to investigating our I-130 case, and supporting documentation showing that if the current processing trends continue, that it may two years since we originally filed with USCIS when our case will be completed (I was part of the I-129F hell when it was really backlogged - and now they're speedy ... GRR). I was very polite, yet stern in stating how USCIS is unreliable when it comes to processing times because of their inconsisties and fluctuations. Fingers crossed that I'll actually get a response. If not, well, it won't change anything and I'm back to where I was. Tomorrow will mark one year since I filed with USCIS. mellow.png

Hope all of you had good holidays and/or some time off. Looking forward to actually seeing some news come from our group!

I'm glad you contacted your Senator! I really do think it helps. Good luck, k.dlg! dancin5hr.gif

I wish I shared your same sentiment about all of this. :( My wife and I have a baby on the way that's due in April, and the way things are looking I won't see its first steps or first words given how slow the USCIS is going because it will have to be with my wife while I am in the states working. It's all so depressing.

Yes, I realize this will be a very short time when compared to the time we'll all be together with our spouses, but I just don't feel as happy about that because it feels like its so far off and is something totally new to me, given that I have never even been allowed to live with my wife yet. I know that day will come, but when? I ask myself that question a lot and there are times I feel like the day we'll be together will never come, largely because of how long the process is (obviously it will come, but that's just how I feel).

Who knows, it might be another year and a half until we're finally with our spouses in light of this backlog and I just can't handle the thought of that. It sickens me how slow USCIS is and I try to avoid thinking about the waiting time at all costs because it just eats me up inside if I do. I'm very pessimistic about all of this, but it's in my nature and the way the USCIS conducts itself only reinforces that pessimism. Just thought I'd add my two cents.

Kaylara, just saw you're also processing through Amsterdam. We're happy so far with how fast they've processed the case once NVC completed it. The longest part is getting through NVC. It was 2.5 months for us (we had one checklist.) Once you get approved, though, the Amsterdam consulate is really fast--like 3-5 business days later, they schedule your interview for the following month. Hubby got his medical appointment within 3 weeks. Good luck! So far, we're really pleased with how fast they're working. The checklists that they send you on their end will probably be all complete if you get through NVC with everything submitted as requested, by the way. Good luck! dancin5hr.gif

That is great that you had an interview. Was it with the New York Times? Who did your Interview? How did they find you? Did you contact them? I know the Article is being written at the moment. The Cameras also went into my husband's home in the US and filmed plus we filmed our Skype conversation that was set up the NYT so it will be exciting to see the Article.

My husband arrives this afternoon for a two week holiday so we are all excited to go to the airport and meet him. The time will go so quickly but we must enjoy what we have.

I wonder if mine representatives responded so fast and in other , because im from a small state. I hope they get back to you soon. This wait for all of us is long. I just cant wait for it all to be over so we can enjoy our life together. Lots of prayers for all of us.

That's pretty impressive that they all replied back to you! Yeah, I had to send a signed privacy release form before I could even contact him, so I'm waiting to see how long it'll take for them to get back to me. I wish they would do it in a manner other than through the US mail.

Upon reading the hard-copy, I found that NVC made a mistake and emailed me the wrong checklist. I contacted a supervisor at NVC and she instructed me to write a letter of explanation to accompany my "real" checklist response. She also told me this may not help me and that we may be back in line. Lord help us!

Hello guys,

Could maybe those of you who wrote to the senators post their letters here so it could be used as templates for some?

I would like have my wife (she's the american one) have it sent to the senator as well and with Cc to NYT ... I believe if we make NYT aware there are so many of us, then maybe some projection of our cases may happen.

Thanksk
