No NVC hardcopy of case number, they're asking for it at the MEDICAL (SLEC)!!!

So my fiance left early this morning and is #18 at the line, then I got an email from his mom saying that they're asking for the hard copy letter of the MNL # or even just the email. However, I did emailed NVC when they gave me our MNL# on the phone, until now, I haven't gotten a response. I don't understand this, because he brought his appointment letter already, why ask for that? So I called SLEC and they said, it's because sometimes the embassy sends them back the approve physical because there isn't a hard copy of the MNL #. I'm so confused!! My fiance is getting his immunizations right now and was told that he wouldn't need to come back tomorrow if we get the letter on his hands right now, but if not, he has to come back with the letter by tomorrow!!!

Any suggestions or advice?

We don't know what to tell them, because we already told them that I haven't received the letter and haven't gotten response on my email, but they wouldn't listen.

On October 2013, our I-129F Refused under 221(g)

So our son and I went back home to the PHL..

Better ask NVC and USEM. Ask NVC about when a hard copy for you would arrive and ask USEM whether or not SLEC has got it right. According to SLEC site they still make you choose between an appointment letter OR the NVC hard copy. Since they are saying that it is USEM that has some problems and returning the physical results to them then you should ask USEM if it is true or not. :)

Because to be honest I think SLEC is so wrong about asking for a hard copy of the MNL# since you can never schedule an appointment with USEM without the MNL# in the first place. I think people there are confused. Sometimes you yourself have to assert yourself and find answers. Good luck with that :)

Website says either appointment letter OR NVC instruction letter can be used. If you can't talk SLEC in to letting her continue with her vaccinations ask if she can postpone them and come back when she has the NVC instruction letter with the MNL#

I would ask to speak with a supervisor and tell him/her that your fiancée was just following instructions for preparation on THIER website. Maybe you can work something out.

Good luck

SLEC requirements aside from the online appointment letter, they will ask either of these two, USEM Instruction Letter or NVC letter. If Slec will insist then you need to call NVC , i hope you can do something, so your fiance can proceed to his immunization.

You got an appointment confirmation letter from the embassy? (not the instructions letter) I thought the appointment confirmation letter had the MNL # on it. (have to check that one out)

One thought is to email USEM to confirm your fiancé interview appointment and use the reply from USEM as that should have the MNL # on it.

SLEC has been stressing having either the NVC letter or USEM appointment confirmation letter, they even updated their website for a time stating one or the other was required, but the update had a oops in it and when I pointed it out to them they pulled the updated pages down instead of just fixing the oops...( crazy), but they are still requiring one or the other.

The case number is key in matching up the medical results with the visa application/interview, and I doubt the online registration for the medical does any validation. Therefore, it's possible for someone to input the wrong number and cause a mix-up in files. Checking the number as it comes from NVC is a way of minimizing delays caused by misplaced files.

Another reason why they might be asking for it is to control the number of people who show up on any given day. Many of us are showing up "early" because we called in for our case number. Whereas, St. Luke's might be expecting a 3-week delay(for example) per applicant after NOA2.

My fiance didn't have any hard copy OR email from NVC either when she went to her medical a month ago. Just the MNL# by phone plus the embassy interview appointment online confirmation page. She got through fine, no questions asked.

What's more, the USEM did not have the hard case file yet either, as it was still at NVC at the time.

Of course, we haven't had our interview yet at USEM, so for all we know, they could indeed have returned SLEC's passed medical. I guess we'll know at the interview. I probably should call to confirm they have it. But either way, she was allowed to take the medical.

He did have the appointment letter. At the end of the day, he told them the situation that I'm in and that I already talked to one of the girls at SLEC, so they just let him go.

The thing is I think the girl that I talked to didn't know what she was talking about. And it's been more than a month when he got his medical done, so idk.. but good thing, they let him walk out without providing the NVC hard copy letter.
