Alien Reg # changed 2x!

Hello! Just want to ask what is the meaning if your alien registration # has been changed 2x? File our 129f last july 29, aug.5 changed alien # and just tonight aug.22 after checking, says it has been changed again. What does it mean?

Sounds like the online system gave the wrong update message perhaps, either the first time or this time. They seem to have changed the messages recently, and they are more confusing now than they were before.

Notice this quote from the screenshot page above:

* Note on "Last Updated" date:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email and/or text message notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

This happens when your case is "touched" and you'll typically see something soon after. You are fairly early on in the process, so I wouldn't expect anything too soon. It could be an error with the system or someone is working on your case.

Hi guys! Thanks for the response. After checking last night about the changed in alien # 2×, today they sent us an RFE. Im so worried what could it be. Or does it mean we'll be hearing from them anytime soon? Your response is highly appreciated!

wait for the postal mail. RFE stuff is sent to the petitioner, via postal mail.
