Hello there, and thank you for VisaJourney.

I received this email today:

Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing
of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner
and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment
until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of
the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at
the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

Sincerely,

Director

National Visa Center

Everything seems to be straight forward from here, I signed up for Loomis Courier services.. I've done some research on this forum before registering but I am confused at some parts.

The checklist/instructions state that I must bring originals AND copies of my documents including [birth Certificate, Marriage Certicate, and Court/Criminal records etc].

The problem is that the NVC has ALL my original documents and I am left with my copies..

How am I supposed to come in with originals when they have all of them?
-I only possess photocopies.

I went through hell obtaining a "certified birth certificate" as they wouldn't accept my original one. The new certified Birth certificate was made out of the same material as the new 20/50/100 dollar bills. As soon as I received that it was sent next day air. I only have a copy of that.

Am I just supposed to bring copies of everything and not worry about the rest because they have all my originals?

How long approximately until I receive my interview date from todays email?

Can I go and get my medical done now?
In the checklist it says the XRAY is NOT needed unless I have TB. I don't have TB.

I am sorry if I sound needy. This whole process has taken way longer than expected. I am starting to get very nervous as the interview date will be here soon and I want to nail everything on the head.

I miss my wife and I'm extremely anxious to start our new lives together. I just feel as if so much time has been wasted during this whole process sad.png

Thank you all in advance.

If the NVC has your originals because you didn't use electronic processing, then they will forward all the originals to Montreal. Do not worry.

To be honest most people don't normally register for Loomis until Montreal has your package from the NVC (which only occurs after they book an interview and your CEAC status says "Ready") But you've done it now so don't worry about it. Remember to bring the printout of your Loomis registration to the interview.

You can go get a medical when you have an interview date. Panel physicians in Canada will not book you a medical without an interview letter (known on the VJ board as the P4 letter.) You will have to get a chest x-ray at the medical, there is no way around that.

No. http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/TheMedical.htm

They can wear a lead shield for the abdominal and pelvic region.

Excellent. Thank you for the response.

To be clear, the way to go about this is to show up with my copies. Correct?

for paper-casefiles, the instructions state to send originals or certified copies, PLUS photocopies, into NVC, for the civil docs.

Since you didn't 'do that' - now you have a choice.

Which originals do you want back? Marriage Cert? birth Cert? don't fuss about the police cert...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes. You can be prepared to give them your copies and request your originals back as well. It is better for them to be in your custody than in USCIS or DOS (Department of State). Some of the originals they do need to keep - police report, medical report, etc. The originals of your birth certificate and any of your fiancee/spouse's documents (divorce decrees, birth certificates, etc.) should be returned to you as the Consulate only needs to compare the copies they have with the originals. They don't need to keep the originals in their possession. It is easiest to get their return at the interview, otherwise you would need to file a separate form requesting their return.

Generally, unless they specifically ask for an original, submit good clear copies instead.
