Hm...if I had to take a guess, I'd say the VSC has done a case dump to ease their load. LOL

Lol... Exactly!!

They took a few random applications from June and transferred them to local field offices...

I bet there will be more people joining this list soon.

I recall reading somewhere that we'll be getting more notices soon.

- A notice saying the application has been mailed to the local office

- Another notice saying that it has been received by our local office

- And then a notice from the local office:

- either an RFE request

- or the 10yr GC approval

I know all of us will be sailing the same boat throughout this ordeal. Yet it is worrisome how much longer this will keep us dragging out if files are transferred to local offices. Hope local office adjucating director will make the decision on our cases soon so that each one of can leave this painful saga behind us.

Now i have a feeling that uscis is dumping cases to local field offices to offload their workload. Nonetheless please keep on posting any new findings or any past experiences you might find here. I am thinking several other people will join us and share their cases soon.

Yes most of us whose file has been physically transferred to local offices will have another update shortly acknowledging the file has been received. In fact this update should come after an immigration officer is assigned to our cases. Then will be the start of another game - wait for the decision.

Thank you for all of your updates today. Good night guys.

One more comment about transfer of cases to USCIS district office from murthy.com I am not sure if this implies to cases that are sent directly to USCIS local office without any RFEs. Just posting what i am finding in other immigration related websites.

http://www.murthy.com/2013/08/19/uscis-transfers-case-types-to-balance-workload/

Transfer to Local USCIS District Office may be due to Case-Specific Issue

The workload-related transfers discussed above involve case transfers between USCIS service centers. This is different than the transfer of a particular case to a local USCIS field office. The transfer of a case to a local USCIS office often means the government has additional questions about the case and will be requesting an in-person interview with the applicant. Of course, this does not necessarily mean there is a serious problem with the case. However, such a notice may be reason for an applicant to contact the attorney handling the case to discuss the matter further to assess the issues and prepare for the interview.

We never heard anything about adjudication from Vermont, nor that the case got transferred. However, our approval letter came from the field director in Atlanta.

Guys,

Seems like the applications are transferred to Saint Albans, Vermont local field office for further processing instead of local district office. Please call 1-800-375-5283 and follow the instruction to check the status of your case. It will tell you which field office the file is transferred to. Please post what you find out after calling the number.

Thanks

What did your letter say?

If it says local office, then it's Atlanta (based on your current address).

If it says CSC, then it's California...

Steve...

I tried calling that number, but when I put in my receipt number, it says there aren't enough digits. Part of my receipt number is EAC, so I'm a little confused. Is there some secret decoder ring number I need to put in? LOL\
