How accurate are the timelines?

Just wondering how accurate the timelines on VJ are? I have applied for a K1 and i am noticing my timeline date move closer and closer every day. When we first filed it said to expect November, now it says September. I know they are just an estimate based on VJ data, but what have other people's experiences been with this?

K1 Journey
20th May 2013: I-129F sent to Dallas (US time)
23rd May 2013: Paperwork tracked and delivered to Dallas (US time)
28th May 2013: NOA1 case sent to Vermont Service Centre (US time)
4th Sept 2013: Update from USCIS-Case has been transferred to a local USCIS office...not sure which one yet
9th Sept 2013: Update from USCIS- file has been transferred and is now being processed at Texas USCIS office
23rd Sept 2013: NOA2- approved!
25th Sept 2013: Case shipped to DOS
9th Oct 2013: Packet 3 arrived via email
9th Oct 2013: Fingerprints done and Police check submitted to AFP (received in mail 30/10/13)
1st Nov 2013: Medical Appointment, (Melb) (results received in mail 15/11/13)

4th Nov 2013: Packet 3 sent to US Consulate, Sydney

5th Nov 2013: Packet 3 delivered to Sydney

8th Nov 2013: Received packet 4

19th Nov 2013: Interview scheduled- APPROVED dancin5hr.gif ...happy birthday for Joe! (visa received in mail 22/11/13)

Total K1 processing time- 6months, 3 days

30th Dec 2013: Entered the USA! POE: Dallas

8th March 2014 MARRIED! (L)

AOS:

7th Oct 2014: After unexpected delays, AOS package finally sent to Chicago

14th Oct 2014: Update received, I-485 accepted on 9th Oct and being processed at the National Benefits Centre

6th Nov 2014: Biometrics appointment scheduled and completed

16th Jan 2015: Letter received stating possible Interview Waiver. Informed there's a 6mth delay on processing

7th Aug 2015: Notice of Intent to deny received. Reasons given- expired Medical and new G-325A needed

11th Aug 2015: New medical completed

14th Aug 2015: Response to RFE sent back to USCIS

23rd Aug 2015: Application to Adjust status approved, Green card has been ordered

3rd Sept 2015: Greencard RECEIVED (yes it is Green!) :no:

Total AOS Processing time- 11 months

here its just estimated data based on members who updates their timeline n helping eachother to get to know what one can estimate for his/her approval but i got my approval as VJ estimation date mentioned...n i see other people who get approval based on VJs estimation time of period, but finally we have to recommend USCIS website which they update on every month,

From what I remember 2 years ago when I went through this it was pretty accurate (within about 2 weeks or so, but don't know exactly anymore), however it kept jumping about drastically towards the end. But with that and Igor's list I was able to guesstimate pretty well when we would be approved...

My timeline always said our I-129F would be approved around August/September. It ended up being June.

They're helpful for an estimate, but don't take it as definite.

 

K1 Timeline

02-22-2013: I-129F to VSC

02-28-2013: NOA1

06-10-2013: NOA2 (102 days)

08-16-2013: Interview - Approved!

08-22-2013: Visa in hand

09-14-2013: POE Houston

10-30-2013: Married!

AOS Timeline

12-10-2013: Mailed AOS/EAD/AP

12-16-2013: NOA1 x 3

01-02-2014: Biometrics

02-24-2014: EAD/AP Approved

03-04-2014: Received EAD/AP

03-10-2014: Interview - Approved!

03-18-2014: Received GC

ROC Timeline

12-12-2015: I-751 to CSC

12-17-2015: NOA1

01-14-2016: Biometrics

05-19-2016: Approved!

 

N-400 Timeline

03-14-2017: N-400 to Texas Lockbox

03-22-2017: NOA1

04-11-2017: Biometrics

04-20-2017: In Line For Interview

07-02-2018: Interview - Approved!

08-22-2018: Oath Ceremony

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Petitions from May and June seem to be getting approved now. So don't worry, also if your petition went to Vermont it might get transferred to Texas and if/ once it does, everything will move faster.

Timelines on here seem to be pretty accurate, but keep in mind not all members log onto VJ again or just forget to update them.

On the USCIS web site it lets you know how long it can take to process your type of visa. If you wait for too long you can send an e-request to get more info about your case.

If your timeline is right and you're a May filer, then you might have a bit to wait still. Just hope everything goes smoothly and you'll get no RFEs. :)

took us 5 months process from start to finish , with one RFE

2013-08-12 (Day 1 ) - Sent my Aos package for work permit and green Card

2013-08-20 (DAY 8) Noa1 received via Text around 11pm, next day was email. Received my case numbers

2013-08-23 (Day 11)- received hard copy in mail for Noa1 gc , Work permit

2013-08-30 (Day 18) Received Biometrics appointment letter in the mail.

2013-09-17 (Day 25) biometrics appointment day @2pm Detriot

2013-09-25 (Day 33) received text and email , I485 changed to testing and interview

2013-10-02 (Day 40) received text message and email @7am about my interview date

2013-10-04 (Day 42) Received hard copy interview letter in the mail

2013-10-10 (Day 48) Work permit Card in production

2013-10-16 (Day 54) 2nd Text and email @830am Work permit in Production

2013-10-21 (Day 59) text/email notice 10am . Work Permit sent

2013-10-21(Day 59)Text/ email @9pm received text with tracking number -2 day delievery

2013-10-24(Day 62) received my work permit in the mail.

2013-10-25 Filled for my Social Security number today

2013-11-05 (Day 74) Interview November 5th (1.40pm)...... APPROVED!! kicking.gif

2013-11-05(Day 74) Text and Email - Green card in Production @2.30pm

2013-11-05 (Day 74) Text and email @8.15pm Mailed notice that i am a registered permanent resident

2013-11-07 (Day 76) 2nd Text and email @11.30am - green card in production

2013-11-09 (Day 78) Welcome letter received - WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

2013-11-12 (Day 81) - Received text and email - Green card sent @1.15pm

2013-11-12 (Day 81) @9pm received text and email - with UPS tracking number - For Green card

2013-11-15 (Day 84) Green card Received dancin5hr.gif
