Job offer...will it affect visa process?

I was just offered a very good job. The problem is that I am scared to take it because of immigration. The last two years, I did not work because I lived overseas with my fiance. When I moved back, I got the job I have now. Will a job change in this hurt our chances of approval? I am a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care. IT's not about the money but this job is a better opportunity.

As long as you can prove your income at the time of the interview with the I-134 and supporting documents it will not matter what your job title is. They only want to make sure that the US citizen can provide support.

Where is the job If you aqre the USC and the job isn't in the US then yes , they won't approve for your fiance to come to the US without you

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Will it look like I have a short job history though! It is in the USA. I'm just worried that I won't have a long job history to show. I guess I can get proof of employment from this job and then the other job too so they can see ongoing employment.

You stated you were a neo-natal nurse. If so and you have been working full time for the past few years then you will be fine. You will need the IRS tax return transcripts for the past 3 years anyway. If you haven't worked and haven't made the min required income then you will need a co-sponsor. If you are simply just wanting to change jobs in the middle of this process then you will be fine and just make sure to send all supporting documents with your I-134 to prove your imcome.

Congratulations on your speedy NOA2 and a desirable job offer!

Lawyers say US consulates look at your "current" job, so if you could present 1 month's paystub which times 12 is above the poverty line x 125%, employer's letter and tax returns, you should be fine.

Having said that, I would feel the same way as you. I would accumulate a few months paystubs and explain that I was abroad for 2 years. I might also get ready for a co-sponsor.

The NOA2 is valid for 4 months. Expiry date is written in it.

Your fiance(e) can make ready for all the docs and respond to the Packet 3 instruction right away, then just hold off booking the interview for a few months.

Should you decide to hold off the interview further, you can ask for the extension of the NOA2 to by writing a letter to his/her local consulate.

I read in a VJ forum that you can ask for extension up to 1 year, 4 months at a time.

Please make sure to check for country specifics if you do decide to do so.

Good luck!
