Ans just so you know..... you do not have to take your green card when going out except its needed for work verification/photocopy. I keep mine locked up im my drawer so i don't loose it. As long as you have you ID on you, you don't need to carry your GC arround.

That is not true. By law you must carry your GC with you at all times. It tells you this clearly on the paperwork you get when you receive the GC.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

I know that is what the law says. In practice, when you have do anything that requires identification, they ask for your ID nor GC.The only time they will want to see ur GC is when you commot a crim or for work verification or when you have to do something with USCIS. So u will rarely need ur GC daily basis. To prevent from loosing it it. I keep mine at home. But again that is just what i do. Everyone has to deice what they want to do and be responsible for the consequences
