I'm glad to report back we got APPROVED!

We took a little heat at the Juarez consulate but I think it was a combination of the officer she got and the fact my fiancée has 2 boys... but when you have nothing to hide, there shouldn't be a problem.

Love wins!

Case status updated on Thursday to Visas Issued!! They should arrive next week and she'll be in Cali with me for Memorial Day Weekend!!

We got our NOA 2 a week ago, this Monday it came on the mail and we were so excited when looking at the actual letter.

We are waiting for the NVC case number to get, we´ve read it´s usually 2-3 weeks. We want to get ahead in the meantime to get all the documents for the interview to speed things up a little bit. We are gathering the form i-134, proof of support and all that. What documents do they ask? We want to be prepared.

Thanks for your support!

Congrats on the NOA2 Approval! Actually, last I saw it's taking an average of 30 days or so for the NVC Case Number. From there, it's been taking another 3 wks or so for the "packet 3" invitation letter from CDJ that you need to present when you go for the medical and interview appts. If the invitation letter is not received you can always ask for a copy at the information window at the CDJ consulate maybe a day before your 1st appointment.

If your income is sufficient, you don't need the bank statements. Bank statements would be needed if you're trying to qualify based on cash/assets.

Birth certificate and any other docs like divorce decree and such are required of both petitioner and beneficiary.

Mike & Eric, see this link for specific info regarding the CDJ consulate instructions: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ%20-%20Ciudad%20Juarez.pdf

Good luck everyone!

Glad to see this topic! I will be filing later this year, most likely in November, and am pretty nervous about the process. My partner is from Romania but is currently living and working in England. He will be living there until, hopefully, he comes here after K-1 approval next year. I am planning my second visit to him in October/November of this year where I plan to pop the question on our two year anniversary. Ever since I decided that I wanted to marry him 100% for sure after my first visit in March, I have been reading these forums and appreciate the wealth of knowledge here! I know my filing date is a long way off, and it will likely be a year from now before my partner is here, but I am excited to now be apart of these forums and sharing in everyone's journeys.
