NVC Update!!

Just now got off the phone with NVC and I was just informed that they are taking anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks to assign a MNL# for K1 fiancée applications through the NVC.

Interesting. Haven't seen anyone waiting that long... yet. But with Texas doing processing now as well, I sure NVC is up to its eyeballs in paperwork now.

Why is the case number important? what do we need it for? We got our NOA2 a few days ago and don't know about anything after that stage.

We waited 36 days from NOA2 for NVC to receive case and assign case number (did both the same day). We were a VSC to Texas transfer, but I've seen over in the NVC forum people waiting a month from CSC and VSC. There are cases that took nearly 8 weeks, but that was usually due to the case being sent to NRC first instead of directly to NVC.

Best thing to do is email NVCResearch at 15 days and schedule an InfoPass appointment to find out if your case left VSC yet or if it was sent to NRC. I found the staff at the InfoPass to be very helpful when I went in to find out why NVC didn't have our case yet. Our delay was due to Texas sending the case back to Vermont and Vermont sending it back to Texas before they sent to NVC - that's what I learned at InfoPass.

You were misinformed.

Call the NVC every day until they give you your MNL case number.

That's their standard reply, especially for those coming from TSC. TSC filers have been getting theirs sooner though.

I got mine today, a mere 4 days.

Like many have said, I will keep trying because that did sound like a "pad" answer 4-8 weeks from the NVC representative. So I will call each day to see what our status is.

I am not in any rush right now. We have to wait for her daughter's break from Nursing School so the family can travel to Manila to have the medical, cfo and interview. That will be in Sept. Our plan is for them to travel to USA when the daughter ends her college semester which will not be till late Oct.

So at this time I am not nervous but just keeping my eye on the ball.
