Thanks Shiraj and f2aforconsular. Big Relief! My congressman's office was bang on and they told me to wait until Tuesday of next week and told me that Wife should get her passport with VISA by then. This is after checking with DOS yesterday. :-)

Hi there!

My wife got approved last Friday on Feb. 21 in Kiev, Ukraine!goofy.gifgoofy.gifgoofy.gif Great thanks to whole VJ friendly community for such wealth of information than you provide here!!!

Few facts about our case:

Our process went pretty ordinary. I was a sponsor for my wife. We got checklist because of one minor mistake in AOS. We changed our interview date from March 31 to February 21 (we contacted embassy in Kiev before that by e-mail). The rest you can see in my signature below.

You would wonder what questions were asked by immigration officer… and answer is: NONE :-))) He literally hasn’t asked any questions!!! My wife read formal oath and officer sad: “Everything is fine with your documents. You will receive your passport in one week.” You can not imagine our joy! They let me (as a beneficiary) in embassy building, so I was with her during whole posses. Every one was very friendly and helpful.

Additional documents that we had:

- 2013 tax return

- Letter from my employer (explaining that I can come back to work after coming back to the US).

- Photo album (25-30 pictures)

- Skype logs, phone logs, emails

As some of you probably know Feb. 18 – 21 were extremely violent and deadly days of revolution that is still going in Ukraine, over 100 protesters were killed those days in Kiev. It was gloomy days for all Ukrainians. Because of all that we had really hard time getting to Kiev from Lviv. All trains were canceled; we luckily bought air tickets and safely got there.

I wish all best to all and easy and fast process for all of you!!!

So glad for you! My wife is from Ukraine as well and she was following your case! Glad you made it through the unrest which reigns Kiev now! Hope you will be soon with your loved one!

Our interview is on 5th March. I am feeling bit anxious to get all the documents straight (especially the Affidavit of Support which we did 2 times and yet was not correct).

My wife had her interview today in Singapore. My wife is a Filipino citizen with permanent resident status in Singapore. Our daughter already had her interview last Feb 6 in Manila. My wife said they asked a lot of question at different occasions. Here are some of the questions.

1. They asked to send a copy of all the pages of my passport to verify my travel/visits with my spouse. After a while, they said that they were able to verify it and no need to send.

2. They asked to send the birth certificate of our daughter from NSO printed in NSO paper. Later on, they were able to verify that our daughter got her visa earlier this mont and no need to send the birth certificate.

3. They asked about her previous visas (B1/B2, L1)

4. They asked about her previous travel here in the US.

5. They asked about our relationship. How we met, when we got married, where. At some point according to their record we got married here in the US which is wrong since we got married in the Philippines and my wife corrected it.

6. They asked for our wedding pictures.

7. They asked for her old passports.

There are more questions but those are the ones I can remember.

HTH.

My visa is approved as per CO. Questions asked by IO & CO are as follows:

Indian Male Officer questions

Who is calling you?
Which is your birth place?
What is the address of the petitioner?
Have you visited any other country before?
Asked for medicals, Passport and DS260 confirmation
Handed over the originals to me

Waited for around 2 hours for my number to come though my token number was 3rd. There were many applicants whose language was not English. So the CO's were finishing their interviews first. After a long wait was called for the interview. There were two female officers. One was sitting and the other officer standing took my interview.

Consular Officer questions

Tell me something about your husband, marriage and your time together
Where did the wedding take place?
Was it arranged or love?
How many people came for the wedding?
Asked to show the marriage pictures
Where did you purchase the gown from?
Who is this female in the wedding photo?
How much time have you'll spend together?
How did your husband enter USA?
Where does he work and as what?
Where is his current residence?
With whom does he stay?
Where has he moved from? (My husband moved to another state due to change in his job last year)
Did you read the instructions about domestic violence?
What is given in the instructions? Kindly explain
Your visa is approved and you should pay $165 fee before you travel to the U.S
